FIFA 12 Demo Comparisons/Impressions with PES 2012 Demo

Truth be told, its actually my first time trying fifa since the Playstation 1 days. I sorta knew that the crossing/shooting button was opposite of pes. Sprint was R2 button instead of R1. The only difficulty was the defensive part.

As what i've played, the animations; like most people said, are much better than pes 2012. Shooting feels good, and passing has that bit of consistency within it compared to pes 2012 demo. The collision system is brilliant; though i must say that proper coding needs to be implemented for it to be properly balanced. The new defensive aspect of the game is pretty fun and interactive; the x button becomes the new pressure button, and you had to time the o button to tackle.

The AI is pretty bad. After a few games getting used to the new controls; i decided to challenge myself to the legendary difficulty.
I noticed that if you used to x button to jockey and r1 button for teammate button properly; while most importantly covering passing lanes; the opposition ai could not even get a shot in. There was no creativity at all. The only times when the AI could actually have a chance was when I make a mistake in the defence.

The Defensive AI is poor. Though legendary difficulty manages to track 1-2 runs; AI covering and marking is absolutely poor. EA toned down the pressure; though that meant that keeping the ball was that so much easier.

PES 2012 AI in the first demo was trully revolutionary; the jockeying and the one on one system is completely brilliant. The only gripes i have in the demo is the idiotic goalkeeping and the defensive responsiveness and physical colision between the defenders and attacker; it seems as though its far to easy for the person dribbling the ball to pass the defender with little or no contact. The second demo promised better goalkeeping and defending; so i remain optimistic about the final product.

For me at least PES had hit the gameplay spot on this year; for PES 2013 animations should be greatly improved and extra interactive additions to the gameplay would be superb.

Is it out? I hate FIFA, all my friends think its better because of the animations. Funny im the only one out of them all that actually plays football each week... PES is for people who understand the game!

People were telling that defending is hard. It's not really, if you're coming from PES 2012, it's still quite simple to steal the ball from the CPU. But the AI scripting in FIFA will always score from one of two situations: Through balls to "untracked" players (the usual defensive positioning problems are still there) and with crosses from the wings (which is what the AI tries do do 90% of the times that literally always result in a successful header from the attacker. We should have known that was the case when you see that situation more than a couple of times in the trailers lol

Yeah the FIFA demo is out. I guess for some people, if it looks realistic, it is realistic; making animations everything for them. FIFA is definitely a pick up and play game; for the larger crowd; casuals. The game is actually quite interactive and fun; I like the defensive controls more than pes 2012.
The difficulty proves it. If I, a first time player when it comes to FIFA could draw legendary On the second game attempting the difficulty; I find it hard to believe that FIFA is for hardcore gamers. How can a person say that pes is for casuals when the learning curve is much much higher and much more in depth. The so call hardcore good FIFA gamers merely abuse exploits in the game.

Played both... My opinion is fifa will have a run for its money this year. I personally think fifa12 is more like fifa11.5 not much different but they've changed the tackling a bit and for me if something isn't broke it doesn't need fixing. Ive been looking forward to pes this year and I'm certainly buying pes regardless of its faults if any and keeping fifa11 best of both worlds )

Yeah same here mate! Me and my brother love it. All of my friends constantly tell me how bad and stupid it looks! Maybe... but it plays much more like the real game, wow factor is reason I still play it! I just find FIFA really boring.

Fifa 12 is horrible. Played one game as dortmund v marseille and it was 3-2 at half time. I pretty much scored with my eyes closed, it was so dull. Turned it off and won't be buying it.

Fifa 12 demo on the PC is badly optimised again like the Fifa 11 demo, Fraps says it's running at a steady 60 fps, but it's choppy as hell, the game looks nice and the animation is good, but with demos that don't work on PC, why would PC gamers buy it for £40?

Pes 2012 1st demo seemed ok but many issues, hope they are fixed in the 2nd demo, which im trying to download now.

Not had chance to play pes demo yet. But ill tell you this. The fifa demo was seriously fucking disapointing. Diden't look any better to me than last year. played 1 game as Arsenal v City. Never noticed any Inpact System, And walcott was closed down when clean thro by 5 yrds by toure...Ehh?. Anyhows someone hit the nail on the head. Fifa will outsell pes because of its name, But that wont mean its a better game. Reminds me of call of duty v Battlefield. Cod sells more but battlefield is the more complete experience. Ill be buying pes this year a proper complete experience!!

You Are Kiddin Right ? ......... Well 1st Fifa Is The Football Game ......PES Is The Interface And Attraction Game .........2nd Fifa Is Great But PES Is More Popular So It Gets All The Intreset.............3rd I Play Both On PC : PES Is For PC Better ,Fifa Is For Console ........... Last And Not Least U Should Try Both (By Try I mean Not The Menu And Then "omg it sucks" Then ALT+F4 .......Try Fifa For A While And U'll Like The Gameplay Not The Game Modes So U'll Get Bored ....Try PES U'll Love The Game Mode And Then Keep Saying "WTF Is This Gameplay " Then U'll Adapt With It Better Than Fifa ..................The End (Weph Both R Good But Still Not Perfect ;) )
