Scoring is a very hard thing in PES 2012. I play with a 4-4-2 formation with a diamond midfield.

Originally I started the ML with 2 strikers. Higuain and Llorente. That didn't worked out, so I've placed Marko Marin next to Higuain as a TA. a Lot better.

STERLING - 16 years with an overall rating of 70!!!!!!!!
He plays for Liverpool so he will be harder to get so you have to keep on negotiating like I did and I got him for my Genk team.

Also, one important thing is that he has 88 dribble speed so he already as fast as players like NANI, INIESTA, DANI ALVES AND KAKA on the ball at the age of 16!!!!!

Midtsjø from Rosenborg is a great cmf. And i must say that Abdellaoue from Norway is a beast up front - not a young talent though.

Definitely recommend Ocampas at River Plate, if you have the effort to develop him it will definetly pay off! As in real life, he has the same build as the cover star Ronaldo, but he is slower and plays CF. Also if anyone else is struggling with the default players in D2 like myself, Hasan Kabze has been my hero upfront!

Rasmus Elm. Sign him as early as possible. He plays for AZ in the beginning of the game. I signed him after 3 seasons trying with different scouts. Then finally he put negotiation on hold and i landed him for free.
He's just great in central midfield. He intercepts the ball, plays great through passes, dribbles well, and he can even make those insane rockets from outside the box which every cpu-controlled player can!

QUESTION: does anyone play with "master negotiator"?

I don't use master negotiator as what's the point when it doesn't make the game a challenge and unrealistic. I don't want to sign Messi when I am some D2 team, it's horrendous and never will happen. I even see some retarded transfers on LOW but atlleast it has improved from last year

Must buy Edu Oriol! He is amazing! My best ever gem i've found. Using only Default Players in D2 I have bought him for around 300-400k, and he is my top scorer. He plays everywhere except CB,DMF AND GK! And already after having him for 6-7 games i've received a 1.2m offer from Sevilla for him.

Okay. Was just wondering, since i don't use it either. I thought it would probably be to easy signing the desired players, and i've already build up a great team, hiring a new scout each season. I actually hired a level 5 scout after the first season, just to get some decent players.

Which transfer frequency do you play with Macheda? I never ever get any offers not even when i put decent players on loan/transfer list. I see there are some clubs negotiating, but i never receive the bid! SO frustrating.

Think i have it on normal.

Mine is normal frequency. Also if you want a stylish CF get Ben Baset, he's scored some crackers for me including a monstrous bicycle! Anyone got ideas for a good CM play maker?

Yes Macheda. Sorry for echoing myself like a mad man, but Rasmus Elm from sweden is an amazing cmf. Actually he can play every mf position apart from dmf. Flexible player, and he has great form - rarely blue and don't think i've seen him being purple yet.

The thing about him, is that he can intercept, build up play, make great passes, and (halleluja) he can shoot from outside the box! Which is a very rare thing in pes 2012 unless the player is cpu controlled of course :)

He is 26 years in my ml and still improving. I'm in 2015.

If you can't or won't get him, try to sign crisetig from inter. He's 21 in my ml, and he has great stats. 77 overall. Also plays every position in midfield besides dmf. So if you haven't played that many seasons both players should develop great if you buy them early.
Hope one of them solves your problem.

What difficulty do you play on Rasmus?
I used to play on Superstar but after patch 1.02, superstar feels to hard and unrealistic so I lowered it to Professional as that gives the more realistic outcomes.
I don't want top player as some say that is a cheat fest. The other day I lost 5-1 against Aston Villa with the default team in the FA cup

I play on superstar since i'm stubborn like hell and i don't accept the cpu beating me all the time, so i'm trying to get used to it :)
Agree that there some crazy shit going on sometimes in this game, but sometimes i'm insanely lucky as well, so it goes both ways.

Just use your own advice in defence: r2 and square to trap the through passes. Once the cpu team can't get them through, they don't know what to do since every team plays almost the same in pes 2012.
Sometimes i even take control of a player and just sprint down to their striker who i know they will try to play with a through ball as soon AI moves all my defenders away from him. So i just use r2 and focus on marking him, watching AI tackle for me using the players i'm not in control of - even though i set assisted tackle to "off" :)
It's sad that i defend better when i actually do nothing :( Really would like to have control over it myself.
The upcoming patch needs to adress this otherwise i fear konami will lose many customers next year

Look at Liverpool for young players who develop well! I started my ml with them the likes of Kelly Wilson flanagan hansen and sterling turn into good players! Also bought neymar ganso iturbe and james rodriguez who are quality! Quick question tho how long does it take to convert players to another position? Trying to get sterling to be a ss for ages now and hes still giving out luuke a little girl!

If you constantly play him there in SS, he should convert when he is around 25 as that is normally the age for high teamwork. The higher the teamwork, the quicker it'll be for some reason. I got De Bruyne to play as a DMF when he was 25

Yeah but how long did it take? I mean did you use him since he was 20,21,22 or 23 in the position you wanted him to learn? :)
I was wondering this myself, since i've been trying for a long time as well now.
And what's up with that sometimes my player says he understands i will convert him, but the week after - same player same position, he starts whining! Then one week after it's suddenly okay again and so forth. ridiculous
