I asked this earlier but only Barn replied. Was wondering are the guys who are regulars on clubs going to be getting FIFA14 on the Playstation 3 or waiting it out to get it on the Playstation 4?

I expect we will all buy FIFA 14 on PS3 and FIFA 15 - if we're still knocking about - on PS4. I may get a PS4 at launch (there were reasons but I can't remember quite what those were!) but even then, buying FIFA on PS4 means that you miss out on three months of FIFA. Not really getting full value for money starting it so late.

I noticed we struggle to break down ultra-defensive teams with 5-man defences. If I think we're struggling I'll probably change the 4231 formation, perhaps for a 4312, with me behind the two so I can flick things on and put people in. I think we're better off playing through the centre because it's hard to get through on the wings and get the crosses in, without which I'm not especially effective.

I'll be getting it on PS3. Not sure whether I'll even be bothered to get a PS4 tbh.
I'm always happy to switch from CDM to an auxiliary attacker if needed...oh wait, I do that anyway :troll:

I don't know about the rest of you but I thought we played much better last night in the 4-3-1-2 formation. I know Mak said he didn't particularly like it (might have something to do with trying to play it while inebriated) but either that or 4-1-2-1-2 (i.e. same form but with a CDM) seems far more effective at punching a whole in the 5 man defences we come up against.

I agree with you about the 5-man defences, though I have two reservations: firstly, we lack width with it; and secondly, I think it leaves us a bit exposed at the back, since the CPU midfielders aren't acting as defensive midfielders. This isn't a problem against smaller teams though I worry about playing teams with 5 men or more.

I agree about the CPU midfielders which is why I was thinking the diamond would work well, the CDM would sit and the RCM, LCM would be the human players. Giving the likes of Mak license to get forward a bit more and perhaps help provide the width you rightly worry about.

i'm up for anything new. getting a little bored with 4-2-3-1 overall. seems as if every side I choose on career or tournament play it (i can only use the actual formations a team uses because I am psychologically distrubed) so growing tired of attacking the same way over and over.

I reckon about 80% of the teams we play these days have 5-man defences. Coward bastards.
Agreed with getting bored of 4-2-3-1. No doubt it has given us the most success, but as a club we've won everything now and it's the last few months of FIFA 13, so trying something different won't be a bad choice.
If that something different doesn't work and has us failing ridiculously bad, then obviously we can switch back.

If we have 3 at the back, think we'll need someone taking the role of the central CB, because the CPU has tendency to suck balls. Unless someone plays 'ANY', i.e. Phats.
