about passing the ball

With the help from other forum members here, my passing is better, but
a lot times still I cant pass the ball to where I want them to be, its so annoying, I must say that passing design in PES 2015 is poor and it feels
awkward and stiff when passing, could be much better, this is why I cant
really say PES is great, far from great, its just average. Dont mention scripting on super star, that just makes this game hell.

Anyway passing is a big big failure in PES 2015, I hate it !!!!

Trust me with more practice it will click. Have you tried to adjust the passing assistance? you might want to give yourself more control over the pass as opposed to fully assisted pass, which means that sometime the computer will decided for you

I noticed a lot of situation that You have to hold the possession of the ball long enough for your team mate to run into a position that You can pass to him. You have only a split second to do that before cpu players barged into You from all directions to dispossess You.

I noticed a pattern of your team mate immediately ran or stay into a position that You could not pass to him immediately after You regained a possession of the ball, as if they do not want to receive the pass based on a pre-coded algorithm.

On many occasions You will find that You have no one to pass to because your team mates actively run and hide behind the cpu defenders.

You always lost your possession mid-pass because your team mate deliberately running away from the intended running and receiving direction or trajectory which You have carefully predicted and placed with your pass.

On many other occasions, when You need a clear space in front of you to clear a ball in front of your goal, to regain the ball after a successful tackle or to shoot on goal, your team mates never fail to get in the way conveniently to block it or to fall over or to deflect the ball back into cpu feet.

I agree all the points you made, well said.

passing in PES 2015 a lot of times is out of control and inconsistent which is a major game defect. AI can easily intercept your missed passes and organize an inevitable attack usually resulted in scoring goals.

So many times AI just decide to pass the ball around at the back and
kill some time, and you cannot not get the ball back, its infuriating.
usually after the passing around, like 10 munites or more passed, opponent AI will launch a deadly wave of attack and score scripted goals, you simply have no time to turn the game around, its bullshit!!

When you try to pass from the wings to the players who are infront of
the goal in the middle, a lot of times you just pass the ball to wrong players who stand behind the intended ball reciever, its so annoying.

Passing in this game is just detestable, I missed a lot of scoring chances
because of that, I tried to adjust the pass assistance bar, it does not
make much diffence, misspasses are still there. Fortunately scoring feels
great, thats probably the only reason I still play this game.

passing is passing if you know when to pass and how much weight and how the player is angled then most pass completion on superstar is low 80's high 80's % and possession most game for me as barcelona is 65%-70% as its not a 3 pass game to your cf this isn't fifa its a patient build up game always playing it back if that space between the lines is not there, keeping the ball like real life and constantly passing short across and through the middle and so on its really good to play.

Absolutely spot on. There is very little wrong with passing in this game. The odd, and I mean the very odd pass, may go astray that felt like it shouldn't, but 9 times out of 10 I've noticed its because my accuracy was crap.

I think the passing is very good, and certainly no handicapping or sabotaging is going on. How do I know? I have the game and my passing is usually good and passes consistently go where they were meant to. I can also tell when I've made a mistake when it's my passing that is bad, literally because of the bad direction I'm pressing on the stick. Without a doubt I'm in control 99% of the time, allowing for the very odd bug here and there.

totally agree mate, i had my doubts at first but when you take the time to learn the game is not like any other football game ever made it is real football and if you don't play it for what it is then it will seem rubbish and unreal.

the game is not unresponsive and unplayable and certainly not dead neither is the passing broke like alot of people are saying ! its 2015 now and the game is more realistic more mechanics which mean playing properly holding the ball creating space keeping possession , gone are the days of 3 passes and run through and score games this is the new era and you need to adapt your game and learn the game properly and then the moaners and nitpickers will see why it won best sports game this year because its deeper than how people have probably picked up and played it style. i would agree if people were solely talking about pes2014 which would be true but pes2015 is the same as 2014 but it now has foundations and depth to the gameplay and alot of people are blinded because they dont truly get into the gameplay and expect to run the whole length of the pitch and score well if thats what they want a football computerized game then buy fifa my friend but with a couple of tweaks in future updates then if you want a football sim which represents the closest you'll get to it being like watching on the television then give pes a real try.

p.s im on ps3 and loving it so i can't wait until i finally switch to ps4 and future installments :D

what assist level are you on?

2 bars assist. I notice my accuracy tends to go if I'm either too relaxed and not concentrating on what I'm doing, or if I'm in an important match that is tight and I get a bit nervy(haha, totally lame I know) and I'm trying to be too precise, which makes me think too much about what I'm doing and not play naturally.

Yeah, its totally about creating space and not trying to ping the ball all the time up the field unless its on and your players are free.

In fairness, 14 was class on the Xbox 360 until they ruined it near the end. It was just broken on the PS3 because unfortunately it couldn't handle the high resolution graphics.

EDIT: I want to get a ps4 myself soon. I prefer the playstation. Only bought the Xbox 360 because it was cheaper than ps3.

Rat Monkey , thanks for the reply

i play on 0 assist and i can clearly see the ball go past my player and lock onto the cpu. I am too stubborn to go up an assist levels but the passing isn't the biggest issue i have with this game anyway. Probably a bigger complaint of mine is how the cpu can move to a lobbed ball with amazing speed to get a head on it, or how my player will allow a cpu player to climb all over him.

It doesn't matter what pass-support, it's obviously purpose. I tried full manual and it still happens as much as it does on full support.

Your moaning about your skill level and understanding of football ingeneral...not the games fault your to ignorant to sse that mate... listen i had the same problem at first till I realized its about creating those passing angles by drawing defenders to you and timing your passes accordingly, the perfect play to use as an example is Xavi. Also get used to using off ball controls on manual that way ur able to control the player u want to pass to and inturn create the passing lanes u want.

im starting to think that everyone who baffles on about scripting and no control over players and all these things is just to cover up how poor they probably are at this game because konami might fuck about but gamescom do not and i can see why it won best sports and so could they so to all the haters , snap the bloody disk in half and play something else. it could be smoother and and a couple of things ironed out but jesus christ its the best football game to date and 99% of the players know this but choose to blame the game over little things that IMO don't affect me or are slightly noticeable but my god not to the extent everyones saying

Completely agree. There is obviously scripting in the game, but the level at which people are saying its there is ridiculous and just wrong. How is it some of us have control of what we're doing? Oh yeah, we're the puppets being controlled by the obnoxious master!:innocent:

Assisted passing is a bit bullshit at times. I've had passes go left when I aim right, and passes that go up the field when I aim parallel etc. Pisses me off sometimes but I've learned to just roll with it. One of the more annoying things is that 95% the time, a pass will find a player. Whether be one of your own, or one of the opposition.

I've never had passes go parallel to what I'm doing. The experiences people have with this game are wildly different to the point its pretty much pointless in arguing anything to the contrary.

What I mean is when there's a player across from you and you want to play a through ball to that player. So say you're running down the left wing on the near side and you want to play a through pass to the CM... you'd hold (roughly) 'up' on the d-pad. There was a moment I tried that yesterday but he played it towards my striker and I didn't aim anywhere near there.

As you say, though. This doesn't happen all the time, it's not like you have no control whatsoever, but it can be a bit annoying.

nothing is wrong with passing . you HAVE TO build up your attack , passing forward all the time wont work like the previous games .
look for an open player before you pass and you'll get possession .
