Hopefully Konami aren't conning us that this batch uploading equates to Option File sharing, because the above is largely the same as last year.

Nope : If I understood correctly, batch import allows you to import a complete set of edits (kits, team logo, player stats etc...) in a sole operation on a per team basis.

So that would be "yep" then.

The edit functionality within the game is what you are referring to, while Option File sharing is the sharing of both the created kit and logo files as well as the sharing of the governing "Edit Data" file that tells the game which data edits and edited graphics to apply throughout the game.

The Batch Import for Team Data section is saying that after the batch import you have to enter each team individually and then search for the correct file that you have copied over and apply the edit(s) for that team. You then have to apply all other edits yourself, including league names, details, logos, etc. Now it took me about 7 minutes a team in PES 2016, so this will speed that up, unless "apply the data you choose" means each individual element separately, which would make it pretty much identical to last year.

It also can't do transfers, since you are doing one team at a time, but let's hope that isn't necessary this year since they said that they would be doing weekly roster updates.

It also won't be able to do player stats, since weekly roster changes would screw up the data very quickly.

So I'm hoping this is just them saying that if you want to import specific teams you can do it this way, but I'm seriously hoping they will also allow what they said they were allowing : "Option File sharing".

So, if I understand this post this post right, Konami makes all helpful editing features PS4 exclusive again?

It's not because of PS4 exculisivity. If only X1 can be more open like PS4, then Konami will surely make all the features available too in X1.

Adam Bhatti confirmed via Twitter that we will be able to add more kits to licensed teams in PES 2017 (via batch file). A 3rd or 4th kit for example.

Does anyone have any idea how this will work? I mean, how will we define the shirt collor, shorts collor. etc...

He said that there will be a video soon to explain the whole process, I think...

Quite sure this will not be possible. You can transfer datas between multiple PES 2017 owners, but not between different versions of the game.
