10 Things I Hate About PES3

The worst thing about PES3, for me, is the fact that I lose control of players at crucial times, i.e. when I've just played a through ball or am defending one, etc. Why these horrible pre-set routines take over is beyond me. I mean, I'll often get Kaladze or some other fool busting a gut just so he can be the last one to touch the ball for no reason and give away a corner . . . even when he's not under any pressure at all. In PES2 you could quickly de-select and then re-select the player to correct this. And yes, I've read about Super-Cancel but it can be tricky - why even have it in the first place?

Other complaints would include that generally only famous (read, 'Adidas advert') players are good, while players that real football fans know are good rarely are.

The 'Transfer' system is also pretty lame.

As are the lack of kits, etc.

That said, though, the game is a million miles better than FIFA. The only thing holding it back seems to be laziness on Konami's part. I mean, why oh why can't you do something as simple as play a freely customisable league or tourney? Myself and my mates went to set up a four team league . . . could we do it? Course not; that'd be too logical for Konami to implement. You've got to play one of their horrible, no-name cups, packed with shitey computer teams, instead.

What Konami really need to big up is the game's multiplayer options (myself and my friends only play against each other; no one's interested in the ML - although I concede that many of you PESites seem to love it). . . all you can do in multiplayer is endless exhibition matches . . . I want leagues! I want tourneys! I want proper stats and records!

Ah, ye gods! I've got a story to write, so I'm going to shut the hell up.

If only all those small silly problems will be corected, PES3 is the choice.

It's amazing to think we could each come up with so many PES3 bad points, but still love it more than FIFA.

The 2 main things that annoy me the most are :

1: Tackling - When you win the ball and the player falls over you after you take the ball and you concede a free kick a nornally a booking !!!

2: Through balls - trying to get players to play the ball at the angle you want for your player to run onto the ball instead of straight to the defenders feet !!!

oh and tackling isn't that annoying, if you do it right you can get the tackle in with no foul

but you cant just be sprinting and just blindly tackle like you can in fifa

Oh Fifa98 was fun but.....problem was, on 2 player games, we were ending with scorelines of 24-20 LOL cos all you had to do, was run up and shoot low and straight, and keeper could never save it....defending was useless and pointless, so it was just like a basketball game really, run up shoot and score. I think Fifa was the best on the old 16bit Sega Megadrive (Genesis in the states) Fifa 96 was king!!, my favourite version.

The 10th reason, Master League is just too rigid. No matter what team you choose to play with, you tend to face the same teams all over again in Div 2. Can be rather boring at times.

Yeah if you're just trying to get cash or stars.
Playing and playing matches over and over again, becoming t seem like a chore...

1.handballs
2. Advantage rule...why konami invented this rule when it only applies to the cpu?
3. Supermode..when playing on 5* the cpu can turn into a maradona/pele in any striker..or your defenders and keeper would look like they play with no brain at all( so many times the cpu has played a long ball free kick and went straight through my defenders head and keepers hands!! How realistic is that to happen every few games? Unfair decisions..i fouled a player on the sideline..got a yellow..but the ref awarded a penalty kick? Another one was when i fouled a striker clearly 7 yards from the box..then awarded a penalty. you can score 5 brilliant goals..then the cpu wil comeback with serious luck...slip ups by keepers...rebounds off post ,rebounds off keeper then defender then straight to open striker for easy tap in, a couple bycicle kicksl

they seriously need to get rid of it....

........otherwise they might lose out to Fifa.
I really hate the handballs rule, just hit a player with the ball and its a handball.
I've seen replays where the ballcomes off the side, the shoulder and MANY more, and straightaway the whistle goes.

There was one incident when after the opponenet defender deflected my shot, I took a second shot from outside the box. He blocked it, the whistle went, and I thought: A foul for just running past him for the ball? I knew it couldn't be.

It was my free kick at the edge of the area for a handball, and that's about the only time I benefitted from the handball rule, the ball coming off the side of his body.

Have you tried adjusting the level of control you have over the players when starting a game? On the ecreen where you get the two controllers or just your controller and the CPU, you can select how much manual control you have over your players. The default I think is Semi-auto (in the middle) but you can move it up or down to suit your needs...

The fact that you still can't always select the most logical player even on manual.

The lack of flexibility in ML.

Only 2 teams to edit.

Rubbish player swapping system

Licensing & Commentary

PES Shop options are limited

There should be a create a stadium option

Needs a more complicated transfer system

Training still does not make any diff to your players?

Players should have international duty when good enough and illness, etc

Sorry... I am digressing from what I hate into what I want!

I also hate how if your defender has the ball and is under the slightest bit of pressure he kicks the ball over the end line..stupid. I mean the Computer does it but to me it just looks so ameaturish and non realistic.

Actually another thing about the commentary is that... even tho the script is rubbish. How come it still says the wrong thing a lot of the time? Like I was winning 3-0 and I scored again and Trevor says that I will still win even with the goal just scored??!?!?!

Stooooooooopid!

i dont mind the lack of licenses, though i have dl'ed a player and team name update thats just icing, i'd put it down on the list of priorities.

one thing i really dont like is the way that if you lose control of the ball you seem to nearly always stumble and cant react.

same after blocked shots and free kicks
