The company that brokered the deal (MSI) appartently won't give any details as to how this deal was done. There are rumours that MSI own the two players and that the deal is with the company and not the club in brazil. The players signed the contracts as MSI were appartently linked with a takeover bid for west ham last yr. Also I have reason to beleive that Ambramovich has his fingers in the corinthians pot in brazil so why didn't cheslki get them then.

(30.8 Atlet. M.) Atletico Madrid have agreed to sign Portugal midfielder Maniche on a three-year contract in a €9m transfer from Dynamo Moscow. The 28-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Chelsea from the Russian club. Maniche enjoyed his biggest success with Jose Mourinho at Porto when the club won the Champions League and the UEFA Cup in consecutive campaigns between 2003 and 2004.

(29.8 Ossas.) Spain Under-21 international Juanfran has signed a four-year deal with Osasuna after being released by Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Real have an option to reclaim the midfielder for the first two years of his contract if he were to be required for the first team squad. Juanfran played on loan at Espanyol last season.

(29.8 Espanyol) Defender Juan Velasco has signed a one-year deal with Espanyol after leaving Atletico Madrid as a free agent. The former Spanish international full back has spent two seasons in the capital club. Velasco, 29, also played for Celta Vigo and his hometown team Sevilla.

(29.8 Mallorca) Argentinean midfielder Ariel Ibagaza has joined his former club Mallorca on a free transfer from Atletico Madrid. The 29-year-old will sign a one-year contract after Atletico coach Javier Aguirre has made it clear that Ibagaza does not figure in his plans.

(29.8 Betis) Germany winger David Odonkor has made a surprise €6m move to Betis from Borussia Dortmund. He has signed a five-year contract with the Spanish team. The 22-year-old will replace Spain winger Joaquin Sanchez, who sealed a €25m switch to Valencia last week. Odonkor is regarded as the fastest Bundesliga player. Betis have also acquired Brazilians Jorge Wagner and Rafael Sobis from Libertadores Cup winners Internacional and cancelled the transfer of striker Alecsandro from Cruzeiro.

(29.8 Celta) Celta Vigo have reached an agreement to bring defensive midfielder Pablo Garcia on a season's loan from Real Madrid. The Uruguayan international was deemed surplus to requirements by new coach Fabio Capello following the arrival of Emerson and Mahamadou Diarra. Garcia, 29, played 22 league games after joining Real from Osasuna for an estimated €4.5m last summer.

(28.8 Deportivo) Deportivo La Coruna have taken Brazilian defender Filipe Luis Kasmirski on a season-long loan from Uruguayan club Rentistas. The 20-year-old left back played for Real Madrid B last season.

(24.8 Valencia) Spanish international winger Joaquin Sanchez has agreed to join Valencia on a five-year deal from Betis for a reported fee of €25m, the second-most expensive Primera Division signing of the close season. Joaquin, 25, helped Betis to gain promotion in his first season in 2001 and has been a leading figure ever since.

(23.8 Levante) Primera Division newcomers Levante unveiled Brazilian defender Ze Maria after the 33-year-old was released by Inter Milan last season. (23.8 Zaragoza) Real Madrid have loaned out Uruguay defender Carlos Diogo to Zaragoza until the end of the season. The 23-year-old, who can play on the right side of midfield and at full back, arrived at Madrid on a five-year deal from Argentina's River Plate a year ago but made only 20 appearances in all competitions.

(23.8 Racing) Deportivo La Coruna have loaned midfielder Antonio Tomas back to Racing for one season, just two weeks after signing him from the Santander club. The 21-year-old moved to Deportivo with Israeli goalkeeper Dudu Awate in a deal that saw forward Pedro Munitis sign for Racing and midfielder Momo and striker Ruben Castro join on loan.

(23.8 Betis) Betis have announced the signing of Brazilian striker Alecsandro from Cruzeiro for a €3m fee. The 25-year-old has scored 20 goals in 45 matches since joining Cruzeiro last September. Alecsandro's arrival may signal the departure of Ricardo Oliveira, who is in trouble with the Spanish club.

(22.8 Racing) Racing Santander have signed Brazilian forward Rafael Sobis from Internacional, where the 21-year-old has scored 28 goals in 80 league games. Defender Ruben Gonzalez, 24, also joins Racing a two-year deal after only four senior appearances to his name at Real Madrid.

(20.8 Real M.) Real Madrid have agreed terms with French champions Lyon for Mali midfielder Mahamadou Diarra, who will join the Spanish giants on a five-year contract. Real will reportedly pay €26m for the 25-year-old, making him the most expensive summer signing in the Primera Division. Diarra is the fourth player to join Real since Ramon Calderon was elected president last month and brings the club's total pre-season spending to over €60m.

(18.8 Racing) The 21-year-old midfielder Javier Angel Balboa has joined Racing Club de Santander on loan from Real Madrid.

I think it's a breath of fresh air to see big players joining a side like West Ham and not just opting to go to one of the big teams. Good on West Ham for pulling off the biggest transfer coup so far.

Yes, but we want him! its Chelseas fault, putting the Ashley transfer at the front of Wengers head instead of signing someone else!
Or maybe im just trying to find excuses!
