Anybody else jumping over to FIFA ???

I've been a PES player all my life, but at the moment I am SOOOO tempted to get FIFA and turn my back on PES as it is very disappointing.

P.S. I have it on the Xbox 360 and the editing is dreadful.

And FIFA's editing is better?

FIFA or PES? Personal preference is the key. Before commiting another load of cash, try and rent, or borrow FIFA.

I've played it round a mates, the management mode is excellent as is the mode where you play as one player.

I haven't used the editing ... is it just as poor if not worse ?

Plus I am a Coventry fan, so always used to like creating Coventry in the game. FIFA already has Cov in it....

I have had both PES 2008 and FIFA 08 and let me tell you my friend, you cant even compare the two! Yes, people have been moaning about the new PES (personally I love it) and although FIFA has made *some* progress, its just not football! The style is soo soo wrong, the players are basically on an icerink, tackling is just stupid and its all arcadish.. PES despite what it is, its still better.. but then again I have it on the PS2

Management mode is more in-depth, but not that deep. You cannot trade players still so thats a bit shite.

Editing? No matter how i tried, unless i did something totally over the top, all the players looked the same! Kits are limited, and boot are fixed. You can unlock some famous brands, but most are @EA@ brand..

As for Coventry, fair enough they are in the game. Never been the same since Dion though.

From an unbiased point of view what is the editing like on FIFA ?

Can you edit players stats and create new teams and base copy players when creating new players ???

i have fifa 0n the 360 and pes on the ps3 and although i personally don't like the gameplay as much as pes fifa is finally playable after about 10 years of trying. the manager mode is just so much better than the master league. it's silly wee things like one of my players turning up drunk at a charity bash and swearing at kids and you need to decide how to deal with them, affecting team morale and job security and things like that. those are the small touches that pes is missing and when they finally nail that pes will be untouchable.

The fact you can't base copy players is really annoying, I don't know why it annoys me so much though, maybe because I want to create Coventry and doing individual stats would take days.

Oh well looks like I'll borrow an xbox cam and get the xsata and stick with PES I think, although FIFA is tempting me I must admit.

Wouldn't bother with the cam unless you are desperate for the faces. A lot of aggro getting colours to match etc.

I'd recommend waiting a while, say another few weeks at least & see what option files show up on here.

Previous years there has been a half decent championship sides one...

I have them both and I just can't get over Fifas gameplay. Its not as fluid and responsive as PES. I like fifas new special moves and overall presentation but the players respond a second late it seems.
To me gameplay is everything and FiFa has not caught up. I'll take the slowdowns (which really dont bother gameplay at all) over Fifas slow, non-responsive, gameplay.

why edit when you got almost every player on the planet + you can get the updated squads list from the internet.

Some players apps are like shit.
And for people who haven't internet, it will be a tough job to update the squad list.

See that's the main reason why I prefer PES than FIFA.
Yes, FIFA has license, lots clubs, but PES has better gameplay, better apps, better edit mode, editable things.

if i'm being perfectly honest mate, this year we've been left by 2 sub standard football games. we all know the problems with this years pro but its still extremely playable when you look past the faults.

fifa is a totally mixed bag. the editing is poor, but why edit when you have the real teams and kits for what seems like a million leagues that you'll probably never use.

the gameplay is better, a lot better, than previous fifa's but its still sluggish and frustrating at times. it's getting there, and i think next years battle with fifa and pro is gonna be massive if fifa can iron out the bugs and konami continue to put out the same game with the same flaws for another year.

in terms of you being a coventry fan, beware! the football leagues are licensed but for some unknown reason, there is NO playoffs in the game. big problem if you ask me. and for some reason theres something about master league that still gives it the edge on fifas manager mode for me personally
