i am feel TOTALLY let down by konami this year big time!
i am a real big fan of the pes games i have played and loved EVERY one and i didnt really want to slag this game off but i have to state my bad experiences, firstly i noticed the shit graphics hardly any of the players actually resemble who they are supposed to be, second thing i noticed was the fact how easy the game is to score i mean when i first buy a PES game i put it on regular to ease myself into the swing of things get my arse kicked a few times getting used to the different things konami put in and then get better and better put the level up to the hardest and have a good master league but on pes2008 I'm winning 4-1, 3-0 and 1-0 on "top player" 2days after Ive had the game (whats that about huh?) thirdly the passing OH MY GOD i think i would have better luck at passing if i slapped the ball around with a wet fish than those players, if I'm on the wing and i look at the map to see a free man on the opposite side to send a lobbed pass directly to his feet or chest i would like to do this because it looks like really good skilled passing but on this pes 2008 the ball just bounces and the dumass defender just stands there and watches it go for a throw, HOW ANOYING!!
my style of play is a passing possession counter attacking game in this game your lucky if you can string together 4-5 passes without your men running into the center and loosing possession its like watching school football!!! GRRR! I'm so angry at the fact that i cannot play football on a football game, football to me is NOT a defender getting the ball then making a mad dash round the pitch like benny hill have all his opponents run away from him till he gets near the box slap a shot and its either going in or the goalie is acting retarded!!!
i don't know if its just me but when I'm in midfield looking at the map to see if my attacker is making a run and i send in a through ball it takes the feel of a good pass out of it to see 2 defenders either bump into each other or both step over the ball and my player get it and BANG again its a goal, I'm finding myself purposely diving or not scoring just trying to make it resemble a football game but I'm obviously living in denial, don't get me started on the editing GRRR!
when PES game comes out my girlfriend shouts at me because i am NEVER off it any given moment the xbox 360 is on and I'm so into the game im shouting at the ref because of a bad decision or concede a goal :eek:) this PES2008 there is NO atmosphere at all i may as well have a 2player game with my 3year old son because my son would probably do a better job than konami's joke of a game.

and i know there will be people out there who disagree but if you ask me its the TRUE pes fans on this site that WILL and ARE noticing these differences in the game and that will not tolerate it, i for one would rather play a cut down version of PES6 on the 360 and have more entertaining hours of football than play a stupid ass pes2008 fucking intelligent AI lmao what a joke!!!


is there anyone out there in PES land that feel the same? let me know

I've not read any of your points...but one thing I will say is they've fucked up the crossing on this one..

If you're running down the touchline you can never cross it because none of your other players have the intelligence to make a run into the box!!

Also, I've been finding it very difficult to score from corners...

I think the crosses are fine, especially the curl on them, but it's those bloody goalies. Like Kev said in the other thread, that satisfaction from scoring goals isn't there anymore, unless you stop taking long distance shots. I play the ball around and try "to walk the ball in" like Arsenal, so I'm OK with the long distance shot bug, but I know I can do it if I'm desperate.

I am also verry dissapointed in the game like the way players run,hard passes u give go wrong cause your player just pass the ball some meters towards and your oponent directly has gotten that ball,sometimes there are stuttering in the game further some details are a disaster example Manuel da costa of psv is white dude and in the game he is Black how can they make such errors in a next gen??!The replays are just a disaster u cant even follow them normal cause they arent smooth or go to fast!!!and dont let me talk about online gaming i have put the game in the closet and returned to playing with pes 6

THE problem is that such Errors makes people go for FIFA who are working like dogs to overule Pro and if they keep producing such bad versions it could be the beginning of the end!

I read half and after that its bollocks, sort ur head out sunshine, the graphics are great. So is the gameplay and i would like u to tel me whats so amazing about fifa and not pes? SCREW U JERKOFF

konami should go back to basics or at least give an option to disable AI. they seem to be trying to win over wee boys who play fifa and are now in danger of losing the fan base of this game.
Who cares about great graphics what makes a good game is the gameplay.
I know 3 friends who will not touch this version and who can blame them?

lmao have you even played the other PES games? doesn't sound like it to me, by the way i HATE fifa ialways have hated fifa since they moved it to the playstation from megadrive, and i have played and loved ALL of the other PES games even when they was ISS ect and have spent many many hours playing them all it was only 1 month ago i was still hammering PES6 the only reason i stopped is because PES2008 was coming out.

why do people in this forum automatically think you like fifa if you have something bad to say about the PES game? if you was a true player of PES you would notice these game play differences and express your concerns.

also friend how rude are you to come into this forum and start swearing at peoples opinions let me tell you now if you read other forums threads in here there are other TRUE fans who LOVE the PES games and have played them since time go and feel let down my these flaws in PES2008 and for you to come in here and start insulting people rather than making solid comments and make a intelligent argument is really quite childish,

my suggestion to you is 1, grow up and 2, play the other PES games and them come back and if you still feel the same then fair enough we'll talk about it but leave the insults out of it yeah!

The goalkeeping in this game is rubbish, they always seem to wont to punch or fumble the ball. I am really getting anoyed by the keepers in this game.

these threads are here for people to give thier feedback on thier opinions be them good or bad they are what that person thinks of that game, if there are a lot of bad comments about this game then what does that say about the game?

Pes 2008 on Xbox 360

Its brilliant when you see the game on a HDTV then you can really appreciate it. The only thing that is a let down is not having an option file yet but im sure somebody will get that sorted soon enough. Still way better than FIFA 08
