Well I can state, that looking for players that have put there contracts on hold. Or players on a ending contract. Those players seem to be always open to talks. I managed to overcrowd my midfield, in turn neglected my defense making me 1 CB short. However with just securing the second round in the KNVB Beker. Three last addition to my team can be made and thankfully it also contains the missing CB. Making me now have enough players to form 2 seperate squads and that is after a ok 1st season, and energetic 2nd season with the biggest price secured that being the Europa League. Just play your socks off, play them to the bone and search smart. Season 3 Champions League, and with the two best CF's I believe money could buy Dadda (VVV Venlo) and Baros (Galatasaray A.S.)
So yes the AI can make some crazy bids and purchases. But to expect that always to strenghten the other team? I have Ajax one of my countries most famous clubs. Going english and buying almost all its players from english teams, and other clubs in that way from other league's. But a great change so far it has not brought. And I believe the way is to find a couple of gem half way true let some go. Which now is truly realistic. Had a CMF Sarto had him for over a season and a half on the transfer list, but with getting no players to sign ever trade I dodged until final Europa League, he shook off the stigma off being traded, scored one of the four goals. And eventually when his time came to change shops, the scout reported back that he wouldn't mind it either way. But it was a nice change so I just accepted it, and hoped that he would get his final years with a little bit of shine at his other club.
So yeah I say just give it all a change, find the right players in the right position. Hope that your first, and you fill your ranks in no-time.
