I play the Demo on Superstar and I like how hard it is to win the match or even get a draw. Thats how it should be, there should be no free win, every game should be hard to win.

In PES09 I could dribble from one goal to another without passing the ball to another teammate which was kind of boring, never managed this in the PES10 demo yet. Its much more about combination and foreseeing, /thumbs up.

Oh dont get me wrong, Im not owning the Regular squads yet, but I def. score more often than tie/ even lose. Its more fun at that level right now for me cause im not up to superstar yet, as their defense is too good at holding me off, i have trouble once i get close to the box on superstar.

Why don't you shield the ball?

How do you shield? Hold R2? If so thats what i do....

Play slow and use the 360 dribbling. But make sure you press the speed at the right moment aswell because if you time it wrong the Defenders will TAKE IT I KNOW IT'S HARD, BUT YOU CAN GET USED TO IT. :) It's because of response times aswell.

Also how do you use the 360 dribbling? Can someone explain that to me??

no, u just need to be as good as the rest of us

I can't see it being any different than in PES09, you can keep the ball from the defender all day, I can get up and leave the parlor and put on a kettel of tea, come back to the telly and my man will still have the ball at his feet boxing the defender away.

I didn't play the WE demo, just the PES 2010 demo. And to shield just release the control. I don't remember whether you need to stop the ball first with R1. Anyway, if your player has a good body balance, shielding the ball can be very useful.

The 360 dribbling is effective because you have much more than 8 directions to dribble around. Use the analogue stick and adapt to it. I am still learning to play with it because I was a d pad user. But with analogue you get much more directions to dribble. Oh and no neeed to hold r2. Just do not hold R1 (speed).

^^Thanks for all the tips guys.

This thread DEF. changed the way i play, for the better, i now got the hang of this game...... its true, holding R2 to control passing, not using much sprint, and for me the most effective thing i have learned is the R2 step overs, those things KILL defenders, and for me play like i play in real life, with step overs then passes, 1-2s etc.

The little step overs lol changed the way i see this game, they are back! But instead of using L1 i use the R2 step overs which are more responsive and quicker to do than the L1' ones, try it out guys, you can seriously break defenders with it.

Yeah i prefer the stepover performed with R2 over the L1 as well. And the one two's holding L1 then pressing x are classic and works out great.

yeah, reigning in the use of R1 is tough after so many years.
Stepovers work well, and if you are going down the wing a good way to get a yard to cross is the double tap in the direction you are running with the d-pad, so you do the stop start dribble.

I just figured out a trick today, holding R2 and L1 at the same time gives you greater control, its like R2 while shielding.
