Bad Ref decisions, open goals etc Realism?!?!

Yo guys reading thru some of the posts here, and there are a few people who feel the game cheat them.!!

As much as i sometimes feel personally, i get cheated out of a win or a bad referee decision. I think hey this is like the real thing, im an arsenal supporter i feel my share of bad luck lol

So i think this just adds to the realism of the real beautiful game called football Dont you?

After all if every open goal went in, and every ref decision was as precise and robotic as a script, wouldnt pes be dull...

What do you think?

Isnt this "Randomness/uncertainty" what makes pes the game it is today, rather than the bland and dull FIFA!

I don't mind a bit of randomness like you say, but sometimes the game is blatantly cheating. I feel very strongly about this.

I don't know how many games you've actually played, but I've noticed the cheating more and more as I've played it. The fact that you can create sooo many easy chances and miss them all says a lot. The fact that you can tell when the AI is gonna score says a lot. The fact that whenever a dodgy free kick is given around your box, it results in a goal.... says a lot.

For me it's PES's main downfall. I couldn't give a toss about all the licenses etc, since there are so many wonderful option file creators, but I want the AI to be good, and not have to resort to cheating. Make it harder for you to create chances, but have more chance of finishing them. Make the AI TRY to score, rather than just score when they're programmed to.... etc.

Yesterday really pissed me off. In my ML, it seemed intent on letting me score no more than 1 goal per game for about 5 matches, no matter how many easy chances were created.

I wouldn't mind if the odd ref decision/offside decision went against me. But again, I'm fed up of having free kicks given against me for fair challenges, often slide challenges from the side, where they try and hook the ball away.

All in all. I don't want it to be easy. I just want it to be FAIR. I know football in real life is often unfair, but PES takes it too far.

It's not the referees and open goals that annoy me so much with cheating, but it's the fact NOTHING you/I want to do gets done. Passes to wrong players, cursors changes to wrong player (even after patch), players have loads of mini steps before shots, first touch goes to pot, all deflections go to opponents, ball goes through my players, the teammate AI gets even worse, making the game unplayable to the point that you'd do just as well if you put the controller down and left the room.
Even more annoyingly, its not just to make the game a challenge against the computer bcause it clearly happens playing online aswell.

but all in all im enjoying this years version esp BAL mode

On deflections, I disagree.

I played a friendly - Stoke v Leeds - last night and the amount of luck I was getting was unreal. Diagne Faye scored when he went to shoot as the defender slid in. The ball then hit Faye's knee and trickled in as the 'keeper was wrong footed.

I also had some luck with a goal line clearance. 'Keeper flapped at a corner, striker had easy tap in but at last minute it deflected off my defender making last ditch tackle and flew wide.

I'm really enjoying this year's game. If you scrutinize every last bit of the game then you'll find errors.

Just be glad it ain't FIFA where every goal is a 1on1 and you'll be lucky to see more than 2 goals in a game.

LOL so now bad programming/ game design is called randomess/incertainty

No where in the manual or on their offical site or from seabass's mouth is there anything about "we have added randomness as a fun feature" if that was the case no one would complain.

lol never said it was a feature "deliberately" implemented in the game, but its always been an aspect of pes thats existed throughout the pes generation!!!

I like it, its what makes pes better than the "scripted -dull -one on one goals -all the time" FIFA...


if you want easy and scripted play fifa imo?

I know that in Fifa, 90% of the goals are one on ones, but sometimes PES is more scripted than Eastenders!! I've played it since Iss Pro Evolution Soccer on the ps1, so I know scripting when I see it. Will always prefer it to Fifa though. Fifa is very dull, every match is the same. As soon as PES gets rid of the AI cheating (which i dont think it will - Konami are too stuborn), it will win a lot more people over.

Definitly cheating most goals i let in are never my fault i look at replys and there is always something the games done.

Defenders stop starting

Defenders runing away

I try and tackle players and they walk through my defence

CPU perfect through balls that will always make it to the striker

Tackles that are not fouls are given as fouls and 90% of the time its a goal

CPU scoring there goals can mostly happan on the final mimiute of games in stoppage time like 45mins + 90+mins and as soon as you kick off the games over and you lose or draw

so basicly the AI get more time even though the whisle should have gone ages before or if i had the ball then it would be blown.

But addictive game and better than fifa.

I don't know whether this is the game's feature or not but I feel like there's "play on" which I manage to benefit from it rather than a robotic script which the ref will just blow whistle once there's a foul.

I experience the exact opposite.

I suppose what you say about the AI making the game more realistic is true, but sometimes it does feel like it is cheating, in a big way. But one thing that I feel would make the game more realistic if the referee is purposley 'ballsd up' is that the linesman and referee would get an offside decision wrong once in a while, but they make their decisions like robots. not humans and is it just me or is there no such thing in PE as an 'advantage'

I like the scripting makes it more unpredictable been playing ml on world class with Coventry and had a couple of hidings never been beaten 4 or 5 nil from the cpu before on 2nd season and starting to find my feet, loving the game this year.

you failed to understand me I said its bad programing/ bad game design and it seems people are happy with it and as long as they are it will continue to happen
