Risen was excellent. Risen 2 on the other hand, has been roundly panned for a number of shortcomings. Some of them were addressed in a patch, others weren't.

EDIT: The ending for Risen was one of the worst of all-time though. Utterly dire and left me feeling as though I'd been robbed.

I take it the PC version had much better voice acting, combat, progression, graphics and well, pretty much everything?
