It's like the Jabulani combined with a 99p plastiball. Feels crap because we need to relearn the weights required for where we aim to hit it.

Corners that were once into the middle of the box at half power are being over-hit deep into the box or beyond and that's just silly.

the physics in 2010 were better I think but then again, we'll get used to 2011 and it won't feel strange after a while.

^Agreed.
I am already feeling better with pes 11 physics. But anyway it has some awkward physics AT TIMES, but then again, it surprises me in others. So I am still undecided over physics.

The more I play, the more I become concerned. At first I thought, Ok it's just the new system that I have to get used to like always, but now, I can definitely say that the Ball and everything related to it is a mess.
Shooting is not giving me the pleasure it used to give before, ball is like it's flying with wings. Strange things happen at some occasions where you'd think KONAMI would have got a good kicking if Newton was around.
The lightness of the ball is effecting every aspect of the game to the point I start to forget all the good things and improvements the game has compared to previous versions.
One more thing, Is it me or the players ALWAYS tend to FLIP OVER when tackled on the ball?
That doesn't seem so realistic to me.
Anyways... I hope these problems are just confined to demo.

^ the ball does float, the game has a Fifaish feel to it, from the ball to the animation and the graphics.

^ I have not played Fifa as much as I could make comparison, but this is EXACTLY what my brother, who's a Fifa player btw, told me when he watched me play.
Last year it was the game speed which turned me off, now it seems the floating ball gonna take the wheel of unfortunate ...
SORT IT OUT KONAMI... ASAP.

I am scoring from long range. As I said, you need to shake off the defender first. I agree that at times it is floaty and yeah it is a bit weird, but at other times it's good. As I said, I am shooting pretty good now and when I have space, I execute, just like in reality. That's when you take a step forward from stationary using the sprint button and then shoot and point the analogue towards the goal. I find this very effective. From stationary, take a step with the r1 button and then shoot. Try it. It worked for me. But beware of the pressure. Make sure you trick the defender with a feint or something.

I agree with this. It is all about being in good position for the shot and having the player in a good position as well.

ya if they could use the 2010 ball physics and shooting with this years passing system it would be very close to perfect ! I dont know what was wrong with the shooting and physics last year that they needed to change it, tweek it a bit I understand but this is very different.

I really like the bal physics on PES 2011, it gives you more freedom and more unexpecable siuations.

Precisely, and I've scored a couple long rangers myself (Xavi and Schweinsteiger). The Xavi one was a belter, hit the crossbar and made a loud bang then it arrowed down into the goal. I wanted to save the replay but the demo didn't allow me to.

Shooting has rarely needed changing on PES, so I wish they had left it alone. The passing and AI changes are so good that with the old shooting system and shot physics, it'd be pretty much spot on. As it is, it's just a bit odd.

The shooting is bad at all, you just need to create space and shrug off your marker first, just like in real life. I like the fact that PES 2011 is harder without having to improve the AI, but the players timing and skill. The only thing missing from shooting is the full power drives from PES 2010. When we hit the ball with a lot of power it should go a lot quicker than it does atm. Other than power drives the shooting is good.

The shooting killed the demo for me, it used to be the best bloody thing PES always had going for it regardless to what else they messed up. I remember feeling one with the ball when dinking and chipping the keeper, but now...

I have still only played the PC version.

... but now that is replaced with a feeling of imminent ballooning over the bar, and a feeling of shock and surprise if it doesn't.

I just found something out in shooting.
If you press the L2 button and the shot button, your shot will be stronger and will float less.
If you press L2 and then shoot, but before the shot animation you press R2, you can place the ball with more power. I suggest using this when outside the area.
I've been practicing on beginner and it seemed to work most of the time. Ofcourse what I said about positioning and clever use of the dash button still counts massively.

Yes maybe they have changed something in shooting system. In this demo the shoots are too slow, the ball it's like it's floating in the air, a bit unreal. I hope in the final version they fix this problem. Or maybe they have added some button (like L2) to be pressed...
