Does it matter if they are 4X or 8X, can u chaneg the speed or do they have to be 2X. Also are there any other brands that can be brought in a store that are good enough, and how much are the Ritek ones!!

Thanks!!

Whatever the maximum speed of this discs always burn at 2x or even 1x - slower speeds are more accurate. Buy from here they sell very cheap DVD's.

Ritek discs are generally quite good as are Phillips ones.

Sony is quite good I think.

This site is really good for help with DVD's and playing backup's or patched versions of PS2 games. Just have a quick read through some of the threads or use the search function , Im sure there will be some recommended DVD's to get.

- There is actually a PS2 section (near the bottom of the page).

I have a problem with the patch that i downloaded. I want to get all the files together and when i click on them to extract them to a different folder so they its all one big part and not 3 it comes up with the following :

It says the archive is either unknown or damaged??? I downloaded Winrar, soim a bit confused??

Thanks

OK,i have figured it out and have extracted and also done the other bit after with the patch and ISO. Now i have to burn it to DVD. I just wanted to ask how big should the file be, should it be the same size with the patch, which is 1.71gb.

I then just go to where the ISO of PES 4 is and burn it, right??

Thanks again!

I think the image size stays the same. Go ahead and burn it. You can burn using alcohol 120%, nero or dvd decrypter just make sure you burn as slow as possible. 1x or 2x are best.

OK, how long do u reckon it will take at like 1x, just as a rough guess, so i know!!!!.

Thanks

EDIT: Also where can i get Alcohol or Nero from to download

I think it takes around 20 minutes at 2x so it'll probably be about double that for 1x.
You can use google to find burning programs. It's probably easier for you to use dvd decrypter.

I burnt the disk first on alcohol120% and told it to do the write speed at 1x but it kept increasing and went up to 4x and completed the disk in 6 mins. Why did this happen??

I then burnt another DVD on DVD Decrypter and told it to do it at 1x and it was doing it at 2x ( which is ok, suppose) and completed it in 12mins. Does anyone know why it goes faster than you ask it to and is 2x a good speed??

Thanks!!

sometimes the burner will select the best speed for you. i don't know why either. it could also be the disc speed. if your dvd-/+r is 4x then your burner will most likely burn it at that speed. if your dvd-/+r is 2.4x then the same applies. you must also consider your burning speed too. some dvd writer, especially new ones, don't write at low speed very well. they can burn a dvd as quick as you can snap your finger but they can't slow down.

i have the same problem as you sometime. my burner can't burn a 1x. the slowest it could go is 2.5x. sometimes it will occasionally speed up and return to 2.5x.

Disk burning depends on the limits of your dvd writer and the dvdr itself. They can only burn at the speed they are capable of going at. So you have to choose your writer and media with the minimum speed in mind - which isn't that easy considering that they mostly tell you about the max speed and don't care about the minimum speed.
2x seems the way to go for most people.

If you can't understand the basic guide to editing then there are no words that would explain it to you. What exactly do you have problems with? Reading english?

WE8 DVD Patched

I have a Patched version WE8 DVD which i can play on my ps2 using swap magic. Is it possible to add additional patches to the copy or do i require the original game and create another ISO etc.

Many thanks

Post Edited by admin:- don't quote the whole guide you fool. there's no need.

You can only patch the original image from your original game.

And DO NOT quote the whole guide from the first post. What was the need? None.

Help please. I think i have patched it properly, but when i do the swap magic thing its says not a PS2 disc or something along them lines.

Anyone know whats wrong...i have 2 guesses:
My laser is broken (it plays all original games)
I use DVD-RW (Does this matter?)

i think it might be that you are using DVD-RW. some PS2 don't read DVD-RW. do you have any other game that you recorded using a DVD-RW?? try that, if that game works then it might be your patching.

Most PS2s will only play DVD-R type disks and some prefer DVD+R.
I'd recommend you try burning onto a DVD-R and see if it works.

Hehe, well I guess (hope) that my PS2 prefers DVD+R's.

I've been attempting to patch PES4 using swap magic and Ritec RidiDisc 4x DVD-Rs. I've tried the jonboyo patch with an end result of either being returned to the PS2 browser or getting a message saying "not a valid PS2 disc" and the British Premier Patch where I've got either a blank screen or been returned to the PS2 browser screen.
