Batman: Arkham City [PS3/360/PC]

Yep.

I predicted it might have been Ra's but was hoping that Lex Luthor was the one teaming up with Strange; would've made more sense as to how he got all his resources. And would be a good segway to a future game (probably as Superman).

I know what you guys are meaning about being unsure about where they'd go next with Batman. 3 people are dead, and possible a further one - but you can never tell with Ra's.

Joker :crymore:

Yesterday I just did the bit where:

You fight Penguin in the museum. The bit where the shark jumped through the ice really shat me up

Great game. Only problem I have is that the camera can be a bit of a pain sometimes.

I don't find the camera too much of a problem but it was certainly annoying when I was doing the bit you just did. Trying to peek round the pillars was impossible when you were on a particular side of them. I also seem to remember in one of the cut scenes I could only see Batman's fat head, obscuring the guy who was talking. I don't know whether that was my fault or whether it was a proper cut scene that was always going to be like that.

Where is the Penguin character meant to be from? Is he supposed to be an American putting on a cockney accent? I find his voice very irritating.

He's voiced by Nolan North (aka Nathan Drake).

The Zsasz mission where you have to get across the map in just over a minute and a half is killing me. I've tried it loads of times now and keep falling just short. The worst was when I was gliding in towards the phone just as the time ran out. Whoever it is who does the voice of Zsasz does a great job, probably the best voiceover on the game.

Don't be daft Mike. (He's second best after Hamill)

I found getting to the phones pretty easy. Just make use the grapple boost and dive bomb at every chance.

Those Zsasz missions are easy! Even if the whole side mission does drag on a bit. Not as much as the riddler one though, you have to beat up god knows how many people before you find out where one of the hostages is.

I still say Zsasz is the better voice but Hamill as Joker is great. It turns out the Zsasz mission I was struggling with was very easy as I finished it on the first attempt just now. I've been spending time on side missions as I feel the next step in the main story could be a big one.

My next objective is to infiltrate the Steel Mill and retrieve the cure from Joker.

^ When I reached that point I only did the main story from there onwards. Think it's still possible to do the side-quests, just more difficult.

Yup you're near enough at the end Phats, you can free roam after the end of the game but feels a bit boring and empty.

I'm just up to the point where:

You're in the steel mill for the 2nd time. Loved the LOST reference :D

Looks like there could be new story mode DLC on the way:

Sounds good. Will be great to drop back into Arkham City, even though I've forgotten how to play!

It's kind of annoying that they'd release this so long after the initial release date. With Arkham City being a finite experience, a lot of folk will have traded the game in.... luckily I'm not one of those.

It's not as finite as some games though. I mean, you need to put a lot of hours to get 100% then there's also the + new game (for those wanting trophies/achievements), and you've got the challenge maps. I've not even started them and I got the Arkham Asylum platinum.

I finally completed the last Riddler challenge the other week and have now completed all side missions apart from 1 of the AR training exercises. It's the one where you have to dive bomb then glide through a tunnel very low. Every time I fuck up getting through the tunnel, pulling up too much. It's Advanced AR training 1.

I beg your pardon?
Nice one Phatmann.
When I looked through all the stuff to do in this game, I figured it would last me a couple of years. I've had it since release, I bought all the DLC for it and I'm about 66% complete. I'm a huge Batman fan, and this is not just the best Batman game of all time, it's probably one of the best video games of all time.

Well, it's finite in the sense that you can reach a point where you've nothing left to do.... unlike multiplayer based games for example.

How do you have the plat without the challenge maps? I thought they were required?

Is it the tunnel in the steel mill? That one took me a good few attempts too. If you just pull up gradually, not actually holding the stick but edging it until you're level, that seems to do the trick.

Nice one Phatmann.

I'm not a huge Batman fan, have only seen the movies, no interest in the comics, but I'm still a huge fan of this game.

Yes, it's the one in the steel mill. I either pull up too much or I dive into the ground. I'll try it again one day. Has anyone got the trophy for meeting with Calendar Man on specific dates? I was going to try and do it legitimately after I went to meet him on New Years Day but after that I've missed out loads. Apparently you can just change the PSN clock and it will work so I'll probably do that instead.

Think I'd just do the clock trick. No way I'm going to remember to go on the game on days such as July 4th.

I did the Arkham Aslyum challenge maps. Not even started Arkham City's.
