I made the starting lineup and it's all gravy - I play about 75 minutes a match and occasionally they even leave me in for the whole game. My manager must be a very relaxed sort of guy.

Unfortunately, 16 straight matches playing 75+ min a match has been taking a major toll on my stamina. I'm starting out with maybe 75% of the stamina bar and I'm beat by halftime. Do they eventually let you rest for a game? They're total slavedrivers.

EDIT: I don't like the fact that even when it's own free-kick, you still have to be 10 yards away from the ball.

Thats the part I hate most aswell - youd think Konami learned after all the critisism theyve got for adding a radius you cant enter at throws, but nono. Its sooooo annoying.

As for stamina, I got some minor problems with that aswell - Im playing CM and Im up to 90 stamina now, yet I can hardly sprint at all if I want to play a full match. Its probably realistic, but its kinda annoying you have to hold that much back - especially since it affects your performance.

Has anyone figured out how the rating work btw? I feel that I can play 2 identical matches and get 6 in one of them and 7 in the other - I just cant seem to predict the score I get, as I seem to only get a 6 when I felt like I played a good match (almost all passes complete, a bunch of interceptions and no lost balls to tackles). Ive got a decent average though (about 6.7) but its still a bit of a let down when you get a lousy score although you felt you did good. :)

Exactly, it is beyond frustrating for me now. I started a new career as a CMF/AMF. My last training match I received a 5.5 despite playing better than the majority of my team according to the statistics. I completed 21 passes out of 22, made 3 interceptions and had 1 shot (albeit off target). I was playing alongside two other CMF's on my team, they both got a rating of 6.0 despite being poorer than me. The match before I received a rating of 7, probably due to an assist. It just seems I have absolutely no consistency at all according to the ratings, but I honestly feel I'm constantly playing well with accurate passes and good covering in the middle of the park. It's just ridiculously annoying to see my chances of making the first team crushed because of Konami's silly rating system.

Maybe your rating is also based on your positioning? Because it shows you how much of the pitch you covered. So, it might take into account if you was playing in the correct position as the manager wanted you to? For example... If he wanted you to play as a DMF and you was playing more like a AMF etc... See where I'm going? Who knows maybe...

Well, in one of the matches Ive played the right winger of my team (computer controlled ^^) was never on his right wing - and I know that because I looked for him everytime to open of the play, as I was playing the right CM. Yet he managed to get a fair score (I remember cursing and thinking "If he gets a good score based on that performance (insert cursing of own choice)") - I dont remember the exact score, but it was at least 6.5 and due to the fact he was constantly out of position and didnt produce anything whatsoever he shouldnt have gotten more than 5.5.

As I CM Ive also picked up some good scores eventhough I was hardly on my own half of the pitch - I was more playing striker or very offensive AM at least. :)

My first time on the bench, I sat through the whole match.... GRRRRR

Second time I played 20 minutes subing our best player while the score was 1-1....

P.S: I signed with Sporting Lisbon... One of Benfica's hardest rivals....

Hmmm not sure then... Maybe the person rating the players is bias? lol...

Anybody here frustrated with our team's AI?
The Defenders are out of their mind!.. They are so in their own world. Once some out-of-nowhere-player from out-of-nowhere-club just passed five of my defenders!! stupid crazy defenders...

Now I'm on to fifth season. From Valencia, champions of the League, runner up to Champions Cup, move to WBA!! can you believe it.. because I want MU to sign me :p and because Valencia just fell to 15th position (a champion becomes 15th.. what a joke, because of lousy defenders)

also agility, mentality and agression are dependant on your position.

How so? Like, DMF likely to have higher mentality (which translates [or used to, at least] to less negative reaction to decreasing stamina) than a WF, while that WF should have much higher aggression than the DMF?

I started off as an SS at Bologna, got into the first team, got played so much I was knackered and ended up injured for a week and then, after four goals and two assists in the first part of the season, moved to Napoli.

At Napoli I've been the best performer so far which is in no small part down to the fact they can pass properly! One assist for Lavezzi in three games so far. Napoli, unlike Bologna, even play me as an SS once in a while. I'm a competent CF now having played the position in every single match for Bologna.

how's your team's AI, Don? Specifically the defenders. Are they good? I'm suspecting the AI will downgrade along the seasons we play :(

Bologna's defenders were astonishingly poor against Udinese's Di Natale and Quagliarella attack. When there, we conceded the odd ridiculous goal too.

Napoli seem a much better outfit but obviously its a concern as my position prevents me from going back and defending. Not worth having my rating drop just to help the team. Call me selfish but it isn't Become A Legendary Team and I want my stats to go up.

Napoli's players seem much confident in their attacking play which I presume is down to better stats.

lol..that's quite true.
anyway, so actually out of position can degrade our rating? i am a WF/RMF but often (very) goes to left, center, right looking for space and m y ratings usually 6.5-7.5 and some of the times 8.0
Have no idea about SS/CF, though..

my defenders just make me want to slam my stick to the floor..

As a CF, if you've gone back to help the defence and the team are counter-attacking but don't have anyone up the pitch to play it to (in the space where you would have been had you not chosen to ignore the club's tactics), you'd get downgraded during the course of the game as I understand it which makes complete sense.

I rarely venture further back than the halfway line.

When I was at Catania we got destroyed by Napoli, Lavezzi ended up as 2nd top goalscorer in the league with 25 (behind Totti with 27). The problem I had with Catania is that they had a few good attacking players in Maresca and Martinez but the defence was shocking.

I'm at Man City now, I didn't think I was going to have to do these training matches when you move club. :fplm:

Loving become a legend so far! Makes a nice change from master league! I'm a centre forward at aston villa (random choice). Sometimes my team are rubbish and I get no service whatsoever and we let in awful goals but sometimes they play really well...We beat arsenal and chelsea and won the european cup but then lose 2-1 against Hull!

Aww how frustrating when you think you've had a good game and then get rated a six. Also, how is making the keeper tip a shot over the bar not classed as on target? Ah well, we drew 0-0 at home to Man Utd so that's as good as a win for Spartak!

They've dropped me to the bench for the visit to Celtic too. Harumph.

i love the mode personally, think its a welcome change from master League... and I think its better than the Fifa one player version, played that round a mates and seemed too easy

Yea, think I'm gunna spend most of my time on this mode as opposed to master league this year...

haha, spartak sound pretty frustrating to play with. Personally I think the mode is overall less frustrating though because I don't care if my team concedes pointless goals, as long as I score / do well...

Just noticed a typo on the menu screen..."The current team's leading goal scorer in the league ! We find out the secret behind Sighmohn Ellis's From !"

Absolutely loving this mode. Thinking about it everyday!

Started out as a Striker at Wigan as there was no offer from West Ham. Got onto the bench after about 7 matches after scoring 3 goals for the training team.

Started regularly after about 3 games as a sub. Ended the season with 6 goals and 7 assists. Got plenty of man of the match awards and offers.

Decided to move to Blackburn as I thought they played 2 up front - only to find out they also play 4-5-1. No training sessions as I went straight onto the bench (got points but didn't even play). Came on for the next game and scored against Arsenal.

The feeling of breaking free from the defence and having a one on one against a big team as your own player was actually pretty nerve wracking! Was so relieved when I buried it. Anyway, halfway through the season, have 8 goals but only one assist. Find that the Blackburn players pick me out more than the Wigan ones. Bentley keeps messing up my assists in front of goal too.

All in all, it's a great mode. Looking forward to playing for England and getting the move to West Ham.

Anyone managed to take a free kick yet?
