Wow, I didn't think the MW2 'Stimulus Package' could have anything else going against it upon release. It was over-priced, and included two old maps from COD4. Things couldn't get any worse, right?
Unfortunately it did get worse. Along with the huge price tag, and re-used COD4 maps, the pack of maps were extremely buggy.
Not only were you paying $15 for three new maps, but they had extreme texture issues and people reported rampant freezing.
Many experts are crying foul because the problems could have easily been solved. Unfortunately, the map pack didn't receive a beta test so the problems were bound to pop up.
This latest DLC fiasco is but a blip in the long line of downloadable content blunders. What is it that developers believe DLC is for?
At least the 'Sitmulus Package' isn't something already included on the disc. Many developers will put content on the retail disc, and then charge gamers later to unlock the content.
Devs and publishers really need to get their act together regarding DLC. There are a few games which have gotten it right. Next time IW/Activision, test your DLC before getting consumers to drop $15 on it
