Computer attacking AI

Anyone else finding the computer AI hardly ever scores?

I still haven't unlocked 5* yet (only had the game for a week), but the computer never seems to score.

I'm 5 games into my division 2 ML and I'm yet to concede a goal. I have all the default West Ham players, so its not like I have a loaded back four or anything.

Even played an International cup as Australia with just a back three, and lost to brazil in the final, in a shootout. I conceeded 2 goals all tourny and the was only to brazil ...

Please tell me there's a way to make the AI score more!?!

On 5*, AI makes very good attacks and makes best use of set pieces. Normally we choose the best teams and if AI is a poorer team, it will find it difficult to score against a good team. In the real EPL, Chelsea had nearly 10 consecutive clean sheets.

Also play with 3 defenders instead of 4. This will make both your and AI's game more attacking.

I've had a similarly watertight defense in my first season, although i like to attribute that to my own ability! Normally i only concede after losing concentration, even for a split second.

I thinks it depends on the crap AI of the game. No matter which team you play against (Real madrid or Ado den Hag) the computer will have only 2 or 3 scoring canches, and i'm playing at 6 stars level. I dont' think this' a "realistic" game. If I play Ascoli versus MUTD I aspect the english team to have almost 10 scoring canches.

I hear what you're saying. West ham ain't no Chelsea but. Its not so much that the AI doesn't finish, it just creates a handful of chances each game on 5 *.

Having a back three isn't the answer. Australia shouldn't beat Italy, France, Portugal and then lose in a PK shootout to Brazil with just a back three and concede only 2 goals.

I'm yet to see the AI score from a free kick, and about 1 out of every 15-20 corners finds the net. IMO the offensive AI needs to be totally overhauled for PES 6.

Another thing while I'm at it is the scoring stats need to be adjusted. If a player draws a penalty, thats an assist. If A player forces an own goal with a shot or pass, thats an assist too.

If you beat a couple of players and hit your player in space, he then beats a player then goes on to score, thats an assist aswell. I go through a season with maybe 3 or 4 assists in my whole team when it should read more like 15-20.

It surely wouldn't be hard to implement a proper scroing stat engine into the game. Every EA NHL series has worked a treat with their scoring engine....

Well it's true. Even on 5* de AI doesn't score normal gameplay goals very often. Just let the computer pass the ball around without attacking them and see that they hardly ever score. You see strikers like Ronaldo, Shevchenko Henry and so on miss easy chances. The only way that the computer scores alot seems to be with a corner or on free kicks.

Kind of a letdown if you ask me. I like to get a clean sheet as a result of my good defending and not as a result of the unrealistic attacking AI.

Real life football is about scoring yourself and avoid the opponent to score. With the poor attacking AI, PES 5 is just about scoring a goal yourself. You don't have to bother that much about the computer scoring on its own. If you don't score the result will most likely be a goalless draw.

I would like to see in the team stats the number of games played by evry single player too! Could be useful in the master league to find out which player should be put on the transfer market.

Good post... hadn't really taken that much notice of the scoring capabilities (or lack of) of the AI.

That has alway's been the case with PES though, hasn't it? There have been a number of occasions when I've been interrupted during a game, someone calling or texting me, and I've forgotten to pause the game. The opposing team walk or pass the ball through my defence then fluff it when they have only the keeper to beat.

Would improve the game if the AI were to be more clinical when shooting at goal.

try 6* against chelsea, barca, brazil they dont miss!

and against a 4-5-1 team its solid,

i was liverpool playing against everton who was using that formation, i had 10, 10min matches and i only won 2 matches, on pro evo4 they couldnt touch me on 6*. but this one you get closed down by the cpu as if you were playing NFL games.

Me too. I never concede good goals. It's usually my fault or the game cheating me. For example, I had PSV's defender Alex watching a ball slowly roll wide of an empty goal, so I didn't press any buttons and was expecting to see the ball go off for my goal kick. All of a sudden Alex sticks a foot out, as if he was trying control the ball, and, instead, tapped the ball into his own goal at the tightest angle possible. I was SO PISSED OFF!!!!!!! The types of goals I usually concede involves a lot of random bouncing.

ANOYING!!!!!!:realmad:
