Creating players - finding stats

Long time reader, first time poster. I've searched the forum for this with no luck so apologies if the info is already out there.

I see a lot of OF creators filling the squads too. Where do you all get your stats from? I've obtained a FM to PES stats converter for PES 2015 but it's not perfect and doesn't work so well for PES 2018. It's ok, but wondered what everyone else is doing? Is there a converter for a later version of FM to PES?

For players that have appeared previously in PES, I use PESMaster website: http://www.pesmaster.com/

You can also look at FIFA stats on sofifa: https://sofifa.com/

FM is also a good source for stats, since it has many teams, you can't find almost every player in there. Even if not perfect, is a good help

Sometimes, you can't find the info you need on all those sources when you want to create really unknown teams. In that case, you need to use your intuition. Sometimes, it's like how good you think a player is.

transfermarkt.com has monetary value for most players, which are helpful when you are using your intuition and comparing players.

I don't know if there are any converters for FIFA/PES stats. I don't calculate the exact value. I use them as a reference so you can know what are the strong and weak skills of a player.

Personally, I like to create players the following way:

Check the player has PES stats. If it does, I use those (sometimes, with some adjustments if they are some years old). If it doesn't, I check the other sources (FM, FIFA and transfermarkt) and try to give an Overall to that player. Then I check those games' stats to see what are the best abilities of a player and raise them more than others. But that is just my method, I don't know if you like it

In my opinion I don't think stats have much if any, effect on the way the game plays. I wouldn't bother about them if I were you. I reckon they're just for show.

Well, stats aren't there just for show, they really affect how good a player is. By your logic, playing with Barcelona would be the same as playing with some lower division team. So, yes, it does affect the gameplay.
