Data Pack 1 Released

I've just seen the 'Data pack 2 vid' absolutely no mention of roster update. I know the press release states it is in it but am I being too cynical about this or is it that PES just don't want to publicise in the vid to potential new customers that they messed up big time. Possibly linked to pEst410 post, are Konami trying a 1984 style rewriting of history?

Did the PES Product Manager perform Bhatti moves on those writers? What a corrupt industry, it's tantamount to fraud! so, no game issue fixes, just a bunch of superficial 'enhancements.'

and all those reviews come out the day the game is released, sometimes a day before - reviewers must boot it up for the first time, kickoff, then begin writing.

its bad because the video game review industry doesn't help if they wait a month before writing.

i read a new review just written last week that scolded all the pes gamers for giving bhatti a hard time about the data pack 1 issue. bet he has smoked a hookah or two with him like that asmin guy. unbiased review i'm sure

The big gaming websites get a review copy to review the game before its release, usually a week or so before release. They spend time playing it and formulating their review and they get published on the day of release because the release embargo gets lifted that day, they cannot release a review during the embargo, they simply would not get any future support from the publisher if they did.

There is a lot of debate and such going on these days regarding a website called 'Kotaku' claiming it was 'blacklisted' by Ubisoft and 'Bethesda'. Youtuber TotalBiscuit has a podcast on it where he discusses ethos in game journalism these days, it provides some insight into how the stuff the above two posts mention works. Are you aware of these issues??

So new Data Pack is announced ... My Bundesliga is nearly finished, what to do before updating? In any case, I will make a Backup to USB. What happens when the Update resets all of my edited Data and I copy my Backup back main folder? Can we only suggest, wait, trial and error? Or does anybody know?

I think it's bad they haven't (as yet) addressed this. I assume many people have made significant edits to the game since DP1 release as we simply couldn't wait. That's not to mention the people who have purchased the game since DP1 and wanted to make edits. Are we going to lose all of this if DP2 automatically re-installs the backed up data from before DP1 and if we delete this backed up data, will this result in current edit data being retained or a totally vanilla copy post DP2?

On a separate note, did anyone notice the really poor spelling and grammar on the in-game news updates published in the last couple of days? I am not usually a pedant on this (people in glass houses and all that!), but I couldn't actually understand some of what was being described. I assume it's published from Japan and is not usually 100% anyway, but this was worse than normal. Just all goes together to promote a feel of unprofessionalism.

Yep, in one on my earlier rants on this thread i spotted the terrible communication skills on display by KONAMI. To not even have someone who can put clear messages in English up just reinforces their lack of professionalism

I am looking forward to the data pack (and the awesome CYPES option file that will hopefully follow), but the fact we will have 3-4 weeks at most before the transfers get all jumbled up in January is infuriating

PES2014 (unplayable unfinished mess on PS3) is still the biggest Konami slap-in-the-face for me - but this debacle is coming a close second. I have played myPES a lot to make up for the Master League not being ready yet, but its hard to shake the feeling this ordeal has all been on purpose to drive us to payable extra myPES content (much the same as it was when they inexplicably removed the 'league' option in the last installment)

I have no doubts that it was all on purpose for that objective. With the launch of the free version, that's where they'll make most of the money and the other modes like ML, BAL and League will probably go down the drain in a year or two... What point will there be in continuing to make them? They're just using the last version, this one and probably the next to wean people out of those modes until they completely suppress them and put all their resources where the money comes from...
