Here is a quote lifted from the WENB website of an interview with someone who has managed to play the game:

"INTERVIEWER: PES2008 definitely favoured the attacking side with scoring being particularly easy. Is this the case in 2009?

INTERVIEWEE: Shots don’t seem to be as easy as 2008 and the keepers cover their area much better. Obviously if you get up to them and pass across them its easy but that’s the same in real life. The defence also like to play cat and mouse with the offside trap so it’s harder to get in to create the easier chances."

So basically, the game is still all about getting into magic spot in box and squaring the ball for an easy goal.

Konami can basically get to fuck if they think I am shelling out a penny for this shit.

Aye...its just frustrating though....reason why I and many many others have grown to hate PES is because it was once upon a time, football gaming gold and even after the gameplay balance started to go downhill with the introduction of the dreaded cut-backs in PES4, it always still had that potential for genius....if only they could iron out that same old fundamental flaw in the games AI...

If only....

But they never do...instead, they just add new ones, take away features and then add them again....monkey around with the AI so that there is no longer such a thing as a 'level-playing field' (not even in 2 player mode) Basically, it would not be hard for them to discover what the core flaws are in the game and take steps to address these things first and foremost BUT THEY JUST DONT BLOODY LISTEN.

Well...I will not rant too much this time round as I am past caring...if PES2009 is still shit...The Series will die....FIFA08 although far from captivating, was better than PES2008 and from what I have read, FIFA09 has elimated many of the gremlins that prevented FIFA08 from being a truly great game.

Videogames make young men violent. I suggest you stick to more friendly and traditional games like Connect 4, Snakes and Ladders or the all time classic, tiddly winks. Hours of endless fun, and no need for anger and violence.

I for one think everybody is jumping the gun a little here. Maybe PES2008 wasnt as good as the previous games for the time it came out...but its still an improvement on the last games, and personally I can still sit there playing it for hours, and me and my mates still have many tournaments between us. Bear in mind its the first game of the next gen consoles, so maybe everything wasnt going to be perfect.

I think people should just wait for the next one before writing it off, as there has been virtually no information regarding it!

Pro's still #1 in my eyes!

Well according to the gameplay and the people that game tested out fifa09 .....Fifa 09 now plays like winning eleven or Pes but in Next gen format in other words better!

Mat the Cat. According to WENB there is more to the story. As this was a early code.

And if you like FIFA then go play FIFA there is no reason to complain about PES if you like FIFA. just a matter of taste.

But being honest. I suggest you do the following, go play pes2008 and then FIF08. You will say FIFA08 is better cause PES2008 is arcade-like. Now compare pes6 with FIFA08 and you will say PES6 is better.
