I used dive a few times when I started, and at first got nothing but yellows for my efforts.

After a few bookings I started treating diving like I used to with ISS '98, i.e. I only dived when I hit the opposition on the counter cos the ref is so far behind the ball. This is by no means a sure method of winning a penalty, you still get booked more often than not, but I have won 2 penalties from this tactic.

Oh yeah, not even that is failsafe, cos the Iranian keeper bloody kept Timmy Cahill's penalty out on one of those two!!!

I've got the keeper sent off against my mate on a one-on-one after rounding him then taking a dive. :smug:

Best time to dive is when the player is having his shirt pulled usually, I find.

I've got a penalty out of it, and a couple of free kicks but its hard to get right, i think you need there to be some kind of contact for it to work. I think the key is to not run intentionally to dive, but keep it in your arsenal and if you get knocked in the area or against the last defender give it a try.

when you are about to shoot then hit the cancel button eg...Sq then x your player should fent and move around the defender to wat ever direction your pressing if the defender nudges you and hes behind you then hit l1 l2 & r1 at the same time as quick as you can!!! it works mostly when you are attempting a skill move like fancy flicks or that show boating stuff try it, it works for me the odd time and i play master league on v hard :O

Talking about diving my friend here's not happy :laugh:. I was playing a Exhibition Lyon(me) vs Manchester United (my friend). I was running with the ball with Kieda Ketia and i done a fake shot, he done a sliding tackle and i dived and won a penatly :smug:.

Final Result: Lyon 1 - 0 Manchester United
(Pen 87mins)

You should see his face :laugh:
