Do not buy PES 2012 / PES 2012 Imrpovements request/Patch 1.02 is a joke

Hello everybody,

This post will be updated according to your requests. PES 2012 is surely better than 2011 however it is still very poor. In order to help improve this miserable release and hopefully get a decent one in 2013, we will come up with a list of improvements and post them here. I have divided the requests according to several topics. Bold is critical:

1. Defense:
1.1 The defenders still roam and leave men unmarked, improve the marking. Improve the defensive AI and stop leaving men unmarked.
1.2 Improve the tackling because it is ineffective.
1.3 Stop defenders from losing position, instead of running alongside the attacker the defenders should position themselves in between the attacker and the goal at all the times or in between passing lines to cut passes. In this release, defense is a joke.
1.4 Stop the silly cheap own goals.
1.5 Improve defending crosses especially low crosses. Sometimes it feels like the cross is just attached to the attackers head, even though my defense is all over the attacker the ball ends up on his head. This is very unrealistic and annoying.
1.6 Stop the players from moving forward 5 meters after every pass.

2. Dribbling:
2.1 Be reasonable please, remove this stupid dribbling system and replace it with something that makes sense. The pace and the movement is very unrealistic, unstoppable and annoying. One player can infiltrate my defense everytime. In brief, put dribbling to the size where it really fits in football, it is just some extra not something major. We don't want science fiction football.

3. Cursor:
3.1 Fix all the crap with the cursor, it is still not working properly. It switches with semi-assisted to another player while the intention is to move the first player, as a result both players end up losing their positions.

4. Goalkeeper:
4.1 Stop the silly cheap rebounds to the attackers and make the goalie punch the ball or fist it away properly like a normal keeper.
4.2 Stop the silly charge of the keeper and his misplacement.
4.3 Stop the silly deflection shot goals.

5. Referee:
5.1 Stop the cheap penalties.
5.2 Give advantage when it is needed.
5.3 Give a red card when it is the last man behind even without the sliding tackle.
5.4 Give a card when it is a tactical foul even without the sliding tackle.
5.5 Change the color of the referee jersey to be different from any of the teams jerseys. (Many times both my team and the referee are wearing red, WTF)

6. Strategies/Tactics:
Coming soon

Post your request and I will upload it here.

Best regards

I bought it and I love it to be honest, this game actually requires skill compared to PES 11, players actually get in decent positions now!! And if you learn how to defend properly you wont have problems with these God like dribblers.

i havent brought it yet but the people that are hating it seem to be the people that cant play it and get beat everygame,

surley a good football game is one u have to learn. not a game where u beat every team 5 0. go play fifa if u want a souless game where u play 1 style of football the long ball over the top and smash it in

I played it all day long and had a fabulous time. Its better than 2011 IMO. It has problems but every game does----every game does---but you will have a blast with this.

and I am a regular Madden player and could list just as many items wrong with that game as I could with PES. Now EA NHL, that is a different story.

i bought it yesterday on the PC, things i didn't like so far:
1. Shooting felt like passing, there was no speed/power to the ball!
2. Dribbling is unrealistic.
3. No ball physics.
4. Passing is unrealistic.

By the way, can i sell the game after i used the code? I don't think Konami can do much at this point.

If anyone interested, i will sell it for $40.00, i bought it for $48.00 or best offer (download version).

Madden was terrible some of the player models our so bad. It feels like you have less control and players are less responsive. I wish they would take the Engine and player models that they have NCAA Football. NBA 2k is awesome.

This is the point. Surely PES players know this already. The curve is steep, and by steep I mean K2 steep!!

I put in well over two hundred demo games, and have already put it over fifty retail games. I don't think I'm exaggerating that all in all, you'll need a combined total of 100 games across demos and retail to even begin to understand how to play defence properly, it's just true.

Like I always do after long sessions on PES that can last up to a couple of days, I think I can get something better out of the game and want a change of scenary. I boot up FIFA, and start off where I finished after 6 games or so me being top. I'm playing Man Utd. I score with Suarez
inside 7 minutes on World Class with a series a pedestrian right to left, then left to right moves. I win the game one nil. The only threat to me throughout was whether or not my unresponsive defenders would be done by the ultra reflex move of the CPU when the CPU works its way to the corner of the 18 yard box. Their patterns of attack were a constant and there was nothing outside the box in the way they attacked. I then played Everton and won that two-nil. Carroll and Suarez.

In around 30 minutes of those two games I've never been so bored in all my life. I won two games so you'd think I'd be ecstatic, I was just there, sitting, emotionless really. The kids were screaming, people were popping up left, right and centre in front of the tele, but nothing from me. I felt a strange sort of indifference.

Contrast that to PES, when kids screaming, people in front of the tele and generally people breaking my PES Zone where I am almost teetering off the anger management cliff and you get the picture.....

On PES, on TP, every second counts. The concentration levels needed to hold out if you play either 15 minute games or 20 minute games is huge. You have to defend properly at every move that breaks down and know where to position players, sometimes you have to concede ground until support arrives, sometimes you can press high up the pitch.

It has taken me literally dozens of days to get a formation that works well with my style of play and have spent hours tinkering on the tactics board.

Do you know how many hours I spend tinkering on the FIFA tactics board? NONE. I've never changed the tactics once, I don't care who starts for me and who is out, I just play the game and I'm top. The learning curve for me this year must have been about 3 minutes, honestly try this.

If you have both games and you're having a hard time winning on FIFA, just go and play PES for half a day on Top Player. When you get back to playing FIFA you'll find the game much much easier.

*Please note that ALL my opinions are now based on the PC version of PES, I agree that the PS3 version can sometimes just go skitz and feel broken*

I don't think it’s a bull shit post, I too experience the same although I would say 1 or 2 players dribble like messi, but I think it depends on how you play the game. Most people here say you need to learn how to defend and I couldn’t agree more but this is only useful for when you play normally i.e. you can switch players to control the whole team. I like to play fixed and usually pick an attacking midfielder or striker.

Pick a low par team and then watch Messi suddenly appear in the other team, even if it’s an equally low par team!

Personally I think certain attributes on players should only come into effect when they get to a certain rating. Example to dribble like Messi you need dribbling of say 90. I watched a player tear up my 5 man defence only to spoon it wide. Checked out his stats to see if he is worth buying and his dribbling was like 70!

I still enjoy the game and didn't like FIFA this year again but what I personally hate the most, which still seems to be in the game, are players running past the ball to get into position when they can very easily intercept it.... HOW... FUCKING... DUMB

Even with the problems I see I still think the game is worth buying :-D

Note: I play the PC version

No I am a good soccer player, usually in real life as well as in games. I control possession average 60% per game and create chances but I am conceding silly goals because of the crap keeper and defense... Anyway, cannot explain much here. it seems like a fairly high number of gamers here are kids who don't have a clue about soccer

Hello everybody,

I am here not to troll. I am here because I bought PES 2012 yesterday and I already feel utterly disappointed.

The game play is not similar to PES 2011, it is different. However the game sucks. The defense, the dribbling, the goal keeping and referees are not meant to be for a soccer game, rather for a science fiction game.

The defense:
The defenders still roam and leave men unmarked, also the through pass on the ground is still a bug, defenders will leave the attacker open or leave ball behind. Ground crosses are still unbeatable and buggy. Normal crosses are impossible to make if you do them like the usual soccer game instead only certain unrealistic crosses will reach an attacker's head while the defense will stay away and advance as if they are setting an offside trap while the opponent already was on the corner line crossing. There are many many things to say about passing... But I will leave it for later.

Dribbling:
I feel like playing against 11 Messi. Every player is able to dribble 10 defenders and score... Dribbling is so ridiculously bugged and there is no way to stop it.

Goalkeeper:
Still same crap keeper giving away cheap rebounds all over the place... Incredible Konami. Too much to say here...

Referee:
Just unbelievable, play the demo and you will know what I mean.

Overall, I am really disappointed. I bought PES 2011 and was hoping to get all Konami promises for a soccer game in PES 2012 and now I got this crap.

For everybody who likes sports games, I want you to play NBA 2K12 and Madden 2012 and see how beautiful they are. You cannot win unless you play real Basketball or real Madden. A true simulation... But with Konami and FIFA, this is not soccer... This is kids crap.

Do not buy the game, you will really regret.

See you

Fifa is calling you...go into the light

He's just impatient. We all could have made this post if we weren't keen on actually taking some time to learn pes 2012. I love that it's not the same every year, and especially this year we have to be very patient in order to learn it

PES RULES!!

How old are you?
Have you actually played online against Messi ,Villa etc.
Or used these players.
You think that "Rules"?

What annoys me how easy it is to score goals from crosses .I'd say 80% of the goals i've conceded are just fools running in the corners all match.
PES 2011 really rewarded creative football but with this years game rewards runners. Some of the games are so ridiculous when you face the usual pes whores who only use the top teams. The games are exhausting even though you haven't moved out of your seat. The turn over of play every time is just Messi, Villa etc..just sprinting at you.Last years version i could play the game for hours but after a few games of this version i get bored even if i'm winning.

dribbling is unrealistic - it may be fun but the close control a player have is unbelievable. Don't get me wrong, it's way better than pes 2011 dribbling but if you watch phil jones barging forward everytime, he does small knock-ons instead of keeping the ball glued to his feet(not literally), i wouldn't say it's like messi, but dribbling for people with low dribbling needs to be toned down.

I agree with robotic animations eventhough they are much moree smoother but animations isn't that necessary when you are playing as it won't affect how you play that much.

Crossing feels weird, shooting needs to be more manuel and a better power bar, passing should be more manuel and also a better power bar.

However when you said players can't mark forwards, on gameplan give them a man to mark but what i hate is that the computer's marking is better which is why they can do more thorugh balls than you so the COM needs to stop scripting by overpowering every team.

Other than that, it's a good game and the problems aren't gamebreakers except for the very bad scripting on top player

Wait for what man?

Own goals and penalties raining all over the place, defenders stumbling and giving away cheap one on ones... there is too much to say...
