Even though I'm English, I can't take the main character seriously at all because of the accent.

It has potential but I'm not expecting Techland will produce anything great.

Speaking of which, is there any correlation between Dead Island & Riptide? Are they on the same island or anything? If not, this could easily have been called Dead Island 2.

Riptide is Dead Island 2, even though its literally the same game but set on a different island.

Different islands, same characters I believe. Riptide is essentially Dead Island 1.5. This new game looks like Dead Island 1.75.

At night in this one, zombies are meant to get enhanced abilities (they can do everything you can - climbing, speed etc.) which is why its been called Dying Light - at night you're fucked.

I enjoyed what little of Dead Island I played but when it became obvious that I would almost certainly need to play online due to the difficulty later in the game, I gave up. I wanted a single-player game which didn't expect me to be playing with others.

My issue with Dead Island was the fact that sometimes the zombies wouldn't even flinch when you hit them with an electrified machete!

Electrified machete? I was still at the baseball bat/plank of wood stage. I may have had a gun with very limited ammo, not sure.

Looks ok I guess, some of the parkour is a bit ridiculous. For example when he uses the zombie to jump he seems to get a stupid amount of height.

Well we havent seen much of the actual missions etc or the night time survival shit, so i'm still quite intrigued
