With regards to the ML, it used to be that you could create your own team, and own kits etc, and have them exclusive to ML. But in recent games, you had to edit one of the existing teams (ie the default sides) that were often used for option file sides. Does anyone know what route they've decided to go down for PES 2015?

I miss the old ML. I haven't enjoyed ML since they started trying to make it realistic, with negotiations etc. Personally I think there should be two modes or at least two branches within ML.

The one would be similar to FIFA's career mode. You start with a team, real life players. Manage finances, buy players, negotiate contracts, youth teams etc.

Then the other branch. The way ML used to be. Pick a team, defaults players such as Castolo, Minanda etc. You buy players like there pieces of meat, no negotiating etc. You know Messi costs this amount of money and as soon as you have the amount you buy him etc. and build a super team, which you can take up against other people's super team's.

That was super fun in the old days, much more fun than any realistic career mode have ever been IMO. That was what made ML special and hell back in the day everyone was talking about it.

I don't mind the negotiations too much, but they to go back to something similar to the PES 6 ML. Even PES 2009 - 2011 wasn't that bad. I tried the ML when I bought PES 2012 and couldn't get into it. I want to bring back my beloved FC Pisces from PES 6, though somehow I can't see Park Chu Young being quite as effective in PES 2014. :hmm:

PES 6 was perfect. Everybody knows that. I even liked the way the negotiations in PES 2009 worked, where you agreed the transfer fee and then got to offer him a contract. Both realistic and easy/fun to use.

I always liked buying the youth players like Duff, Whelan, Shimzu, Bos, etc... And making teams out of them. Even those who wern't that great to just see how well I could develop them.

Yeah, but I hated when it when they started recycling retired players into the youth team. I don't want a 17 year old Del Piero, who still looks like he's 35, no matter how good he is!

hahaha I liked it. Made me invest in some old players as well with the thought that I'll have a good young talent soon.

They should make it an option, similar to using classic players.

I've said a few times, it can't be that hard to have some sort of random player name generator or just a huge database of names to choose from. Fifa does something like that for the career mode, heck... Championship Manager could do that 15 years ago!

Yeah they can keep the growth line, stats can be kept of a retired player just with a random name and surname, random club and age 17. You'll still have to go look for those players and save up for them.

Knowing Konami, I'd end up getting a 16 yr old South Korean called Keith Ronaldo. ;)

I quite liked it, but understand why some people didn't. There was an option to turn it off though wasn't there? Best of both worlds.

Sensible World of Soccer did it almost 20 years ago. It was funny sometimes though, I'm sure I remember Dwight Schmeichel, Tony Cantona, Diego McTaggart & Hristo Jones!

Yeah, you could turn off classic players, but as far as I remember it didn't stop players who retired during the ML from returning. I could be wrong though.... as I often am.

Nah you're probably right, I never turned off classics so I wouldn't know, but that's probably what I was thinking of.

I did give myself a rule though & never signed a classic until he re-spawned, kept things more interesting & challenging for longer.

I remember I did a master league where I wouldn't allow myself to buy youth players like boss, kaiser, shimzu, etc. I had to stay with in the middle and lower ranks players and I turned that 7'0 Brazilian kid into a scoring machine. That was a lot of fun. Miss it.
