The gamemode is really fun.

I have actually never played more than one or two games in Master League or one of the other gamemodes simply because I'd rather have the feeling of "just the player", without any managerial control over the team.

However, the gamemode is lacking.

There are a few things that I would wanna see in the next version of Become a Legend. Namely:

-The ability to go into training with your own player. We wanna see how our own players behave without having to try that in a match.
A bonus would be to be able to perform various training exercises but that is just asking for the dessert.

-More control over contract negotiations. Also, make it possible to be loaned out, perhaps on asking to be (some people might not like their team and should be able to request a transfer or loan).

-Be able to request to be taken off the pitch. The AI manager doesn't always think ahead which games is following which, so the player would have to do it for him. But if he doesn't sub the player off until the 90' agains't West Brom, only to have the European Champions Cup final the week after, it makes things different.
Yes, we can skip matches, but sometimes, we don't want to.

-Equalize the AI for both the team you're facing and the team you're playing with. Why? Because it makes the gameplay more realistic and much more fun. Sure, it will make teams such as Barcelona and Manchester United dominant but let's be fair... Aren't they in real life?

There are many other things that can be implemented and/or improved on but those are the ones I think is most important.

What I'd like to see in Become a Legend is the ratings system improved... It's hard to get high ratings if you're playing as a wide midfielder or a striker on a team that spends most of its time defending, even if every time you get the ball you make good plays.

The biggest factor I want improved in BAL is the overall AI interferance. The AI teamates are always on the loosing side when it comes to ball possession and creating attacks. The opponent plays better and that's just annoying. Even if you're at Inter and you're playing against udinese, they play better than your teamates. Also another thing I want fixed is the rating system and the player's form (too AI controlled, you can't make your player's form, the AI does it.). Also LESS AI CHEATING AND SCRIPTING. Those would be the biggest steps towards an ultimate BAL.

My main disappointment with Become A Legend is the AI, I'll explain. It's quite noticeable that when your own player leaves the field of play, or isn't playing the match, your teammates perform better. However when our player is on the pitch, teammates suddenly appear to play very lacklustre and leave the work up to you. This needs to be fixed in my opinion, primarily because it's not as enjoyable knowing if you weren't playing, the chances are your team would win.

Another point I'd like to see improved in Become A Legend is definitely the ratings system. Quite often the ratings system seems incorrect, some matches I will play terrible yet I'll score and receive a rating of 7.5. However in another match I'll be on form, with all manouveurs working well, yet because I don't score or make an assist I'll get a rating of just 6.0. Another part of the ratings system which I'd like to see improved is when coming off the bench as a sub, it's very difficult to achieve a good rating unless you score and create a goal. I'm not sure how exactly, but I hope that you're (Konami) able to try and alter this in some way.

Thanks.

Hi there,

I'm one of the really regular players on online Legends and it is certainly the highlight of the game for me.

Attributes:

It takes too long to get to a semi decent character, I would like something along the lines of the UFC career mode, whereby there are games and training and where it's possible to take a playable semi decent (82/83 average) character on after around 10 hours of offline play (with obvious options to play longer/better to get a 90+ stat average player etc). Granted I have 4 32 year old players and therefore am happy to put the hours in, but this has definitely curtailed the online usage for recreational players.

The old school training sections (with the targets free kicks, dribbling through cones etc) for this would be perfect, as currently the only way to practice free kicks is to create a player and copy all the stats/styles into the editor. It could be these that make the difference between average and great players, encouraging development of several characters, rather than a 40hr slog to make just one.

5 v 5 (ie two teams of 4 + computer keeper) is the natural extra option for this mode in my opinion too as it eliminates the emphasis on the points, plus could integrate a ranking system into it for teams and individuals.

Character changing: the ability to swap your character while in a room, rather than having to return to the top menu and a general tidying up of the online section menus.

I LOVE this mode, is there a 100% guarantee that it's definitely going to be on 2010???

I really gotta repeat the voices of so many others when I say that the AI is just riddiculous.

Hunter mentions how your teammates become lacklustre when you're not on the field - that right there is the main concern about the game as it stands today.

I seriously doubt that you, Konami, intended your game to make Messi and Ibrahimovic play like 15 year olds who barely knows how a ball looks like.

I know that I'm overdoing it a bit, it's not always that bad - which is weird, sometimes the collective just dies and sometimes it performs miracles. I can understand if one or two players are having a bad day and performs pretty badly but come on, when your team hits that period of bad play ALL of your teammates absolutely suck;
- Passes are being hit onto the opposite team's feet painfully often (even in your own box sometimes!).
- Shots are being hit outside of the frame 80% of the time.
- Your own team's Goalkeeper almost never makes a complete save of the ball.
Also, the players of your team has the worst response (sometimes moving AWAY from a loose ball) and position (I usually have to literally STOP, turn around and pass the ball back... in the opposite box).

It's really frustrating and I could go as far as to say that it is a reason why some people just don't wanna play the game. I've stated this so many times that even I am getting sick of it but the solution is not so hard in theory;

Equalize all AI at all times, and have the stats and the form of the player decide how he plays.

I have a suggestion ya see EA recently implemented a new 360 degree movement system in FIFA 10. If Konami did the same it would improve PES in general but I think especially BAL would benifit from this as too often my player has not been able to exploit a gap in defence because my player can only run in eight directions.

Imagine the new freedom and more importantly how realistic it would be to see a striker drop his shoulder and deviate his run just a few degrees past the defender.
Maybe I'm the only one but too often I have seen gaps and had to avoid them and ultimately play worse football because I know my player can't do what any real player can do.

Now I don't want to sound like a spolied child reading my demands but I do think that this would greatl improve the series and BAl making ot much more intuitive.

Maybe its too late to re-programme this into the game now but its certainly something I'd love to see in the future.

i definately agree with what people have been saying about AI. Because in my season on BAL bojan and messi has amazing stats but never put them in2 full use and it often fustrates me.

I would like if at the start of the game if you could create your own stats where you hav 2 share your points over(smilar to UFC) so you can create the player that you want.

I also believe that you should have other options at the start of the game. like for example, playing 4 a top team but play for their 'reserves/ youth league' and there should be a resevere league. And the other option you start @ semi pro level as you du on the normal game.

I agree with everyone else who said that they shoud introduce training into bal and not jus the training match. But you should do drills that improve that specific stat like dribbling. I also believe that you as a young player should be mentored by an older player who gives you hints and can do drills with and your player earns more exp than usual drills. And when you become an Older player you can mentor younger players so they get better but you also do.

Last points is that you should include the media in2 the game and have interviews and sponsorship deals. and you should hav realistic wages and transfers to make it look more realistic to add to the feel.
