I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this here but pes5 needs to have proper kits templates and especially stripes and hoops that were missing in pes4

a major bad point for the whole series is that everything is fixed dead outside the green pitch. some slight movement can give life to the off-the-pitch atmosphere.

stewards around the stadium should not be fixed to the ground, also crowd should be interactive,( stand up at goals or missed chances)
linesmen should also be visible.

Instead of going OTT over what should be in the next version of PES (quick on the ball a lot of you considering PES4 has been out only a few weeks) maybe we should keep it simple and look at where FIFA is better and improve on that.

Obvious things are

1 Licensing (proper teams, players & leagues) I think a master league format would still work with proper leagues.

2 Commentary. Thank you Peter & Trevor but sitting 6pts clear at the top of the table is not a team facing relegation.

3 Crowd effects. FIFA seem to have this (and item 2) implemented perfectly.

One other idea ,not strictly to improve PES, more for asthetic properties (while the disc loading thing is happening) but how about a MOTD kind of scenario. Lineker (for example) at a desk, in the studio introducing the game (with a view out to the pitch behind him). Ie "welcome to todays league/cup game between x and y... " and finish with "and now down to the pitch with our commentator x who is joined by y"

Maybe have a couple of different commentators & co-commentators!

And put this into half time with studio scenario again but with a monitor showing the highlights and a few comments like "this was the long range effort well saved"

Improved shooting, more precision. If you shoot from long range you accuracy should go down but you should nearly always score 1-on-1.

I think most of these improvements you have listed wont be taking effect until pes 6, lets face it, pes 4 slows down because of the extreme detail and to add any more would be a minus for the gameplay. PES 6 on the PS3 / Xbox2 etc etc will be far more powerfull, we will then start to see futher attention to detail.

Back to the first post... HAND BALLS? They ruined PES 3, they happened all the time how could u want them back? They still do happen in 4 but not even a quarter as frequently. This thread has made interesting reading. There should be different versions for different countires, eg:

For us Brits, we get the MOTD look, with Lineker and corresponding commentators and graphics etc

Im not sure konami have the space but if they do it wud be good. ESPN NFL & NBA 2k5 already have this- its sportscenter

Diving

I think there is already diving. I saw on the GAmespot Forum for PES4 this guy said just before the tackle you press R2 and the opposite direction of the tackle and the player will do either of the few things:

Slam the floor in disgust in not gettin the free kick or penalty.
He gets the free kick or penalty and the fouler mite get sent off or booked
He gets a yellow or is sent off for diving.

THings that I want:
A cirb, as in a house where you can unlock collectable Items.
A VIP system so if you use someones mem card to play against them, you know how they play.
Meetings with the PLayers.
Customisable music for Xbox, even though i dont have one.
XBOX and PS2 clans for teams online

best game ever done, but with some extra additions the next release would look out of this world, these are some:

4- (user controlled) grabbing shirts, fake diving, hand balls.
5- ball boys around the pitch

Now these two would look so damn good if they were to be implemented. I always wanted to grab the opponent's shirt and drag him down! Fake diving should be an addition too.
Ball boys around the pitch sounds great since this would keep the game goin, not stop, blank screen, then game back, and eventually all players back.

yes id also like to see alot more action arond the pitch, c'mon we dont want the screen to go dark and re appear with player holding the ball above their head now do we!

On the sidelines thee should be;
Ballboys (no blackness in throwins)
Linesmen
Players warming up
Manager calling the shots

Also id like to see more than one pair of commentry team, maybe 2 or three so you dont always have Peter and Trever rambling on all the time!

Better crowds.

They seem lifeless in the game, i want stamford bridge booming to the sound of 'carefree'. I want the crowd to go mental when a goal is scored, in PES4 the crowds seem a little subdued.

1) Better Pitches
2) More Stadiums / Licences / Teams / Animations etc etc.
3) Widescreen
4) Improved Diffculty - i'd love 8*
5) Improved AI - Opposition Defenders are too slow in picking up runners
6) Improved Keepers - Less watching of the ball and they shouldn't always fall for the shot fake, it makes it too easy if you have a player with pace.
7) When you edit a team, in a League or Cup, when the play the comp they use the orginal set up not the edited one. Fix it!
8) Make the Great players Greater - its still too easy to shut them down. I want to see some Wonder goals and Wonder Runs!
9) Build the Atmosphere of games, and there should be different opening sequences for Cup Finals.
10) And OH GOD, Please Please fix up 1 - 2s they are a joke against the computer, i have banned myself from using them with the MF and FWs.

On the edit if you transfer a player and press X you see a short clip of him holding his new shirt with name and number with photographers snapping him.

As well as fixing the goalies there should be proper goalie mistakes e.g Cudicini Vs Arsenal and Carroll Vs Tottenham.

Penalties anybody who has played ISS98 or ISS2000 on the N64, in this you have a target box and you move it to where you want the striker to shoot, same for keeper. Would be a lot better as on pes4 there is only 6 places to go.

longer replays: the default length is usaully fine, so i'd leave it as it is, but you should be able to rewind further back if you want to see the build up, or if you went on a wonder run from your own box so you could see it from the beginning...
