sorry but tricks are easy as fuck. How on earth can you find it difficult? It's like using the right analogue to do a 360 spin in pes.

Except there's so many tricks and combos.

It'ss not supposed to be so easy to be able to pull it off every time as in real life, you need to practise.

And how do you suppose you move the player with the left analogue and try too use the dpad at the same time?
:fplm:
I am talking about it being intuitive to the game. I don't care that you memorized them. The term "practice" as you used it is for something in RL not in games. When doing tricks you "memorize" them.

yeah it's pretty dumb to move the tricks to the left analogue, it makes no sense at all

Actually no it's not. To be able to do tricks with the same thumbstick you move the player with is very intuitive. Also, you can actually do just that with the D-pad (move the player and do tricks). So it doesn't make sense to me why there is no option for players to do the same with the Left Thumb stick (which is used to move the player).

Side note:
Don't follow the crowd. You already said "good post"!

good post ^^^^

the trick stick for me is awesome, I use it all the time if I'm going down the wings, people who say it's pointless is because they can't utilize it.

Also, in the final version of FIFA the ball isn't as much of a windfloater as it was in the demo, however the keepers reactions are extremely shit when you press Triangle to bring them out!

PS: if anyone's interested in FIFA, ASDA are selling it for £32 , offers end on Sunday though and Tesco were selling it for £29 apparently (PS3)

It's more about preference then not utilize it. Some people don't care to use a right thumbstick

a little criticsm and these pes forum regulars label you a fanboy.

Why cant they just explain why it's the case instead of being so childish.

The ball clearly sticks to the turf like velcro unless it is kicked in the air. And the keepers are poor. Why have they not improved these flaws from pes 08?

Uh... Seriously, I've loved PES until last year, and I must say that the biased vibe given off by you people is amazing!

The ball is only kicked far in front when you are sprinting... You slow down, bring it close in and beat your man... Like in real life!

Maybe you shouldn't be here then? This is the PESGaming forums after all. And yes, I am correct when I say that the ball in FIFA09 is kicked further then normal be it sprinting or other wise. Your little jab at PES dribbling won't win you any awards here. If you are that upset at any level of criticism of a competing product here then the EA UK forums are more then well suited for you.

Side note:
Maybe not, because over there are also criticism the game:
- all AI players play the same
-a glitch online that if you pause the game and quite you win 3-0
-game is to easy on it's hardest settings
-PES2009 vs FIFA09 screenshot <--click here...were PES is more life like (IMO).
-players not looking like they should unless they are well known players
-etc, etc

Just face it, the game is not as polished as you want others to believe . Defending it won't change that.

So, IMO you can take the little criticism here or you can go on their forums and deal with the bombardment of complaints. Your choice bub.

Seriously what the fuck is wrong with you matey... I express an opinion about PES going down hill and you tell me to go to the other side of the lake! What the fuck, I can't be worried that my once favorite game is getting worse with each coming year? Does it offend you that maybe if you actually kept an open mind instead of just pure: "Lalalalala... I'm not listening, lalala... PES IS THE BESTESTEST EVER!" then you might actually see what I mean.

The reason the ball get's taken away from players in FIFA 09 (and 08) is because the AI can actually close a player down instead of just a singular player slicing the defenses like butter because he made a slight turn. In fact if you read earlier here, you'll find my far more detailed complain! The ball isn't too far in front of the players as well, and in fact I would argue that in the new PES the ball is more or less completely flat and sticks to the players feet as if they have placed magnets in the players boots and in the ball. In fact my first goal on the PES 2009 demo was Lionel Messi, up the box, down the box and a shot that just inexplicably sailed into the top corner. There was no closing down and the AI defense more or less just trailed behind him, despite the fact that they were originally in the perfect position to close me down. You're give unrealistically large amounts of space due to this. Then you have great fun down the flanks, because again, the fullbacks don't know how to close players down, so you just get a free run as long as you don't run head first into one, and even then you sometimes get away with it.

Moving onto the players... What team do I support do you ask... THE MIGHTY RAMS, 6 GAMES UNBEATEN! Do I have a problem with the player models and images... Not at all. The graphics in FIFA 09 are overall amazing, and again... KICK THE SHIT OUT OF THE PAST GEN GRAPHICS OF PES. I must admit however that I do like some of the faces, but graphics again are truly trivial when the gameplay of PES 2009 is so terrible, that I actually think it may have gotten worse!

why does a simple discussion turn into a war? Well its a discussion about fifa and PES and so PASSIONS take over and the adrenalin pubs hard. It's good to see year after year, release after release, football still affects people in such a dramatic way. No doubt it is the WORLD game.

My views on the game...also posted it in the fifa thread.

I’ve just picked up a copy of Fifa 09 on the puss3..i managed to trade in some of my 360 games as its broken and only had to pay £7 extra.

I have to say the game is very impressive and seems much better than the demo..there’s a lot more animations in the full version and maybe this is why. One I was really impressed with was when I played Celtic there player hit a shot straight at my keeper and chose not to pass to the player in a better position, the other player was then complaining about this by waving his arms up and down in frustration. I also scored a cracking header with Berbatov..you could see him slightly pushing the defender away to get enough space to header the ball first..it looked so real!

The game flows really well and it just seems so more realistic, you don’t get any odd running animations or anything like in pes.

At the moment Fifa 09 just seems way ahead of pes2009 and it’s going to be very hard for Konami to change this if they continue to be lazy and ignore the fans. I really recommend giving this game a try!

It's very Disappointing to know (despite the fact I haven't even played the demo) that PES09 is not as good as the PS2 versions.. Makes me wonder What in Hell have Konami done for the past 2 years??!

If I don't like the demo, and the Full Game is the same as the demo -then- I'm definitely going for FIFA09 -and- will probably end up Playing PES6 in the end.

I feel sympathy towards Konami -but- there's No way I'm going to keep buying shite from them. A shame really, but what can we do? In my Opinion, PES fanatics are very Loyal and full of Suggestions.

Konami have only themselves to blame IF a significant part of their fanbase ends up with FIFA09.

I still think it was Unbelievable that Many Fans actually managed liking PES08.

I actually see FIFA09 for what it is based on what I like/want. The ball is kicked further then normal thus the AI has the opportunity to steal it more with very little contact. IMO, contributes to why there is rarely any cards called. Furthermore, the animation and the ball's floaty flight path is a complete turn off for me.

I was one of the ppl that enjoyed PES 2008.....but after playing PES 2009 i seriously wonder how that was possible?

PES 2009 trust me man....is THE best PES yet. IT still neds work on animations ( although there are many new ones ) but the game flows beautifully. the demo is still not done ( only about 85% ) and its evident in some cases. But the pace of this game is sick. Every player feels important not just the RONALDOS and MESSIS.

this exceeds PES5 ( slightly ) oh and the grafix are SICK!

Okay, I just bought FIFA 2009 and had around a 2 hour playthrough.

Yesterday I played FIFA 2008 and absolutley hated it. It was clunky, boring, repetitive, player movements were horribly slow, shooting was downright shit... etc. Its only saving grace was that little bit of attacking balance which PES 2008 severely lacked.

Anyway, after playing FIFA 2009 for a couple of hours.. I can honestly say (from a PES fanboy) its much better than PES 2008/FIFA 2008. Animations are superb. Best seen by the celebrations which occur when scoring a goal. A very nice touch. The player collissions animations are like none ever seen before. Very realistic. The passing is also superb. The pace of the game is faster than FIFA 2008 and the PES 2009 demo. It makes for a really nice pace to the game in terms of creating those golden chances. Shooting now seems far easier than FIFA 2008. Shooting mechanic is less clunky, you can move around the box like PES... I still think the shooting isn't as good as PES but tbh I haven't shot a lot.. i've been more interested in the buildup play and defending. Speaking of defending... you have a lot of control over your defenders much like PES 2009. Graphics-wise on the pitch and off of it, FIFA wins. I thought from screenshots I've been looking at for the past few weeks, PES would own this... but the fact of the matter is the player models aren't what they look like on the pitch on either game. PES 2009's only saving grace is its player face models which are good... although not amazing (see Fernando Torres). Also, FIFA's players seem to look better and seem more REAL (im talking about their movements etc.) than the PES 2009 demo models... ALTHOUGH I did struggle to tell some apart (namely I couldn't tell who Berbatov was until the commentator said his name.. altho take into account I wasn't rly interested in who he was cos I was so immersed in the game). Presentation wise in terms of tactics, I think PES wins! The FIFA tactics are still very uh... cluttered. PES concentrates everything you need including stats, positions, formations, editable formations... with lots of ease. The FIFA tactics and team managments seems VERY cluttered and still displays a lot less information. The fact its harder to compare stats of players on FIFA easily means I care a lot less about the stats... whilst on PES its a completley different ball game. Stats mean absolutley everything. Adidas Live.. and the fact FIFA's stats are much better than Konami's... means they win in the stats accuracy section. However, PES wins in terms of how you can feel the stats on the pitch.

I have two gripes with the game currently. Firstly, worldclass wasn't hard when I played Liverpool vs. Everton (won it by 3 goals). However, when I turned it to legendary, I lost 2 matches and drew 2... but take into account I'm converting my gameplay from PES 2008/2009 demo and I didn't play with good teams. My second gripe is what seems to be like a very big learning curve to the Be a Pro mode... and the fact you only have 4 years. I mean okay... I probably wouldn't have played it for more than 4 seasons but I want the damn option! Also raising a teen player seems fairly uh... dissapointing since u only have 4 years worth of nurturing.

I'm still hopeful PES 2009 gameplay will trump this. The Demo is NOT the final version as many of you will know. Its an older build and the newer build is far more fluid etc. If the gameplay is solid, I'll buy it. The main reason for me buying it is the charm of Master League. Oh, and I like the new look of PES more than FIFAs (in terms of presentation).

I haven't mentioned the online modes because I couldn't connect to the EA servers which is a big negative.

I hope they merge. xD
Make it like FIFA Pro? FIFA Evolution? Pro Evolution Football?
XD

It would be 100 times better, since there will be one game, nothing to compare, no conflicts and we would just buy the game, get home and play without complaints.

I dunno if it wouldwork that way... EA would just not have any competition... the two companies would need to come to a mutual agreement I think.
