Just got in my monthly magazine full of game-related stuff, like a preview of FIFA 2006.
I translate some remarkable comments/facts/opinions:

producer Hughes Ricour said:
Total Football(equivalent to Winning Eleven, a Jap version of FIFA 2006) got a 36 out of 40 from Famitsu Magazine(the Jap game-bible,so to say?) and PES got 34 out of 40. Need I say more?

the same guy again said:
The tactical menu's in PES are highly overrated. They are nothing but the Edit-tools which they just left in the game. Everyone talks about it, but no one really uses it.
The man needs to get out more.

the same guy said:
The guys behind Total Football come from i.e. SEGA, and they have created a better thing than PES in only 2 years.

the same Tool said:
FIFA 2006 will be the best football game ever
Right, this guy is ripe for the loonie pen.

By the way, he's French ;)

Its true im hearing alot of good stuff about Fifa 2006 from alot of Magazines, but 36 out of 40  PES got 34/40 thats bad.

Ill judge for myself.

This aint a fifa 2006 official magazine isit?

Hehe.

His statement is partially true, Total Football did get better ratings than PES and FIFA is simular to Total Football, so who knows??

No, dont worry
Its a trustworthy mag. They had some sort of inhouse playsession, because they were always so critical and EA wanted them to show they had the balls tp say it to one of the producers :)

But isn't he saying Total Football is equivalent to Winning eleven, which is the Jap version of FIFA 2006...? How does that work?

I didnt articulate correctly, perhaps. Im sorry about that, translating gone wrong ;)
Winning Eleven is the Asian version of PES.
Total Football is the Asian version of PES.

Like that, TF is the same for FIFa as WE is for PES.

LOL i know exacly why. Those cunts have decided to copy PES, the Free-kick has been copyed the same and the R2 sidestep dribble on PES has also been copyed.

i've downloaded the demo, and it looks good, nothing like PES though but very improved. They got a lot of things copied from winning eleven like for example they added lots of stats for players. Still i didn't notice the difference between them in anything except maybe speed. I can't get through defenders by dribbling, only passing. Graphics aren't what i expected but it's just the demo plus my graphics card sucks ass.

I played the demo and the graphics looks okay to me?

I got through the defenders... only with Makaay when I was with Bayern Munich. Its pretty hard though.

Its an ok game. Better than the other Fifas but PES is better in all aspects except the commentating

FIFA's getting closer, but still miles away from the games these forums rely on.
I was actually forced to play the PES game, use the sides and search for an opening.

Remarkable though, is the ease in which shots just outside the box find the goal. Keeper animations are the only player animations that look good.

Just played the Fifa demo and I have to say its shit.

The more I play the demo, the more I want to play PES!!

Whereas the graphics and the realism may look good in fifa, the gameplay and the feeling of playing a great game makes PES unbeatable.
