So, first impressions...

Don't like it. It seems exactly like Fifa 08. The first goal that's scored looks piss poor. The keepers still dive the same way and make it look like they don't even want to save it.

Also, when Lampard scored I was hoping he'd be greeted by players like Drogba and Joe Cole. Instead, Ashley Cole, Terry and Bosingwa appeared during the celebration. Once again, goals celebrated with defenders. What's up with that?

nothing changed.. Bosingwa ball at his right, but still passes the ball with his left foot.. Why?? he's a right-footed guy.. that was one of the biggest problem in 08 and still continues..
EA sux...

Come on PES 2009 , u'll be definetaly the king this year

Well, the graphics are better and great, the licence of kits and boots is tempting, the commentary is a little similar to PES2008, the gameplay is slow paced.

I dont see myself buying this game over PES2009

Its looks good so far will most prob get pes and fifa again.

Agreed.

Graphics look good as usual, and the smaller annoyances don't annoy me as much as it seems the rest of you.

I'm not a fan boy, but, I'm a fan of both PES and FIFA because they both promote different style of games.

EDIT - looking at the stills from the game, it appears that the actual kits being worn are incorrect at the moment, whether it's the sponsor or the actual design of the shirt.

Most prob the one of the last things they will add into the game as there is like 250 key improvements or something.

lol at how late Almunia dives when Drogba scores.

Graphics and collisions are good, but speed seems very slow.

ergh the speed seems so god damn slow, the keepers have always been pretty bad in Fifa but how late did the arsenal keeper want to be lmao with that save.

From watching the gameplay in 09 and playing Fifa 08, you can tell that EA are still focusing more on the appearance of the game. The only change in the gameplay is the ability to power your pass. Other than that, very little has changed in terms of gameplay. The players still don't run towards the ball when the ball is passed to them setting up for a sluggish first touch and an even worse second touch. It also seems that through balls from the centre of the pitch to another player in the centre are impossible to perform. Btw, why is Andy Gray still even in the game.

It's ok but not great. It's still slow.

FIFA 2009 is still the same game, it's a highly polished FIFA08 -but- it is still the same game and you can see that right away by watching some of their Gameplay video clips.

That said, I like David Rutter's attitude, I liked that he took on as FIFA's producer and made it clear that he wanted to make 250 key improvements, and he has also done a great job with their fans. Maybe Seabass could learn a thing or two from him.

And as for PES09, judging by that very short clip, it seems like a version of PES6 (or what PES08 should have been) with better Graphics. I think it will be better than FIFA09, and most fans will enjoy the game.

I mean, you can compare FIFA09 video clips -with- the only PES09 video clip -and- you can see that in PES09 the off-the-ball movement seems to be better, the players stretch the pitch better (at least when Attacking). On the other hand, FIFA haves talked about the "250 key improvements", but still the off-the-ball movement looks more or less the same.

Of course I'm judging things by a video clip that barely showed anything -besides- Leo Messi playing by himself.

So really, we cannot make anything out of the game -without- seeing proper Gameplay footage. Judging by that Clip, it looks as though PES09 will be at least enjoyable. But we can only confirm that once we get to see some Gameplay footage.

According to some people that have played it it plays like PES but in next gen format!

Well, maybe it Plays like PES.. I'm not going to say it doesn't because I haven't even played the game. But, it certainly doesn't looks like PES.

I still see FIFA08 in the video clips..
