yes, it is a marketing ploy of the highest nature. Yes, it will sell by the shedload. One point i will make thou, and its something which does ring true for EA. They could make an incredible football game, if, once a year, they released a football game. They are so intent on doing gimmicks and releasing games juts to get tournament related sales (euro 2004 etc.) that they are losing out on what truely is important, football fans.

most of FIFA's advertising movies are very smooth and cool. it just let you down when you play the game, i just hope this game is not one of those

Yes your right. EA rely only on making money on a substandard level. I bet if it wasn't for the continous pressure that the PES series has had (and continues too grow) they would be content with having the same gameplay every year with just updated teams and kits

FIFA has always been a cheat in marketing. they always have a game out for any special event or a prequel of the event.

Example:
FIFA '98: the Road to the World Cup
then comes
FIFA World Cup '98

Ok this is a very glamourous looking game, but how long will the novelty last? Football and skills in the street? The ads are great and its entertaining to watch but realistically, I can't see much room for expansion in the game unless it becomes like Tony Hawk's Underground with a story or something and u get to meet pros, but this isn't football, it's a load of C Ronaldos running around in the street.

I'm not saying the game wont be good, I just don't see how long it will last. Here's an idea...
