Have you enjoyed PES5?

Personally, I think i've got the most satisfaction out of this version. Although others will certainly disagree. Have some memorable games, (e.g coming back from 0-3 to win 4-3, gutted isn't the word that describes my opponent) and some fustrating ones (e.g niggling fouls).

Anyway, what's you opinion, success or failure?

it is still the best football game out and there isn't a gsme that even comes close

Loved it. The good times, the bad and the frustrating. Some classics along the way. Now roll on number 6!!!

PES5 has been great although i still regard PES3 as the best so far.

I'm still playing PES5 on my PS2 even though i've just bought a 360......thats how addictive the game is and i doubt there are many games on the market that you will play constantly until the next update comes out.

PES 5 have served me well. It has been my daily dosage of footie after i comes home from work. Rarely missed a day without it.

I played it on the xbox till i got the 360, and the emulator fucked it up so i stopped playing it. Few months ago had an urge to play so i found my PS2 and bought a few acccessories and spent a good few months on it. The option files add so much more to the master league particulary.

In terms of ratng the game, i think the shooting was made too inconsistent everything else with time became perfect. The tackling for instance seemed really shit when i first got it, but now i would say its so fucking realistic.

still playing it because it has a great lifespan. I mean you can update everything you d like every season although it is not 100% perfect but hey what is nowadays in these games. I ve put Excelsior in the game and it feels realistic because i made a custom Eredivisie by swapping RBC for Excelsior. But at this moment being aware of PES 6 coming i'm more busy with finding info of PES6!

every year the same routine at relaese time... waiting... searching... buying... editing... playing... playing ... ... hah september... waiting... etc.

PES gets more realistic every year but in my opinion has lost some of the enjoyment since the days of PES1 and 2. Still a great game and if this game does cut out the hiddious dirt goals (run to line, press x, defenders split keeper dives out the way, 1-0) then it will be flawless. Also they need to get rid of that stupid shot where a player scores what looks to be a great goal, only for u to see on the replay that he has sliced across the ball with his instep and it has arrowed into the top corner. I think PES6 could be the most enjoyable yet.

I`m fast approaching 50 and i only own a ps2 for one reason. Ive played every football game since Subbuteo in the 1960`s. That was realism so i thought, the pro evo series are my chance to play football without going out and getting breathless, Pro evo 5?...well...someimes i swear i can smell the grass!!!....I find myself making decisions that i would make if i were out playing, it plays like football!!...nothing comes close. I emmersed myself in creating the great Leeds team of my youth in the 1960`s, i got them spot on!!...one thing though, i play a high pressure game and i found the free kicks and yellow and red cards a ball ache, just like todays football!!..in my day you could tackle hard, oh well, memories, I loved 5 but look forward to 6, and, longer term...roll on 7 on the PS3!!!!

Welcome back...
The only thing Fifa do slightly better than Pro Evo is what happens around the club everything else Pro Evo shits all over it. At the end of the day you buy a game for gameplay.

I don't know about you but Pro Evo 5 makes my top 10 games of all time. Right up there with Goldeneye.

Every year I say "only three games are enough to me to play". They are PES, NFS and GTA........But:
1-After 1 months of having NFS, I usually get bored of it. However I still play it from one time to another.
2-GTA usually takes much longer than NFS, but also I get bored before completing 65% of the total game.
3-PES is very highly addictive ,till now, after 11 months of playing it, I still enjoying every aspect of the game and a growing feeling inside me is saying that PES as a game is enough in the whole year to play and enjoy.....:)

PES5 has been a definite success. I know the niggly fouls take the piss sometimes, but can you remeber a Pro Evo where you haven't thought 'Why did they leave this in/take this out/do this/didn't do that?' I must admit I stopped playing single player a while back, but that was partly down to my laptop being a complete fucking pig. I still have regular mini leagues or cups with the lads, and they're as fun, if not more fun now as they were when shrouded by the excitement and slightly more level playing field of October 05. And that's not a tear, there's something in me eye...

For PES5 was the worst in the series.
Too many annoying things which ruined anything positive.
It was definitely the most frustrating version. It even made me question my PES ability :( . I like to play attractive football, but the game doesn't seem to respond to my actions or thought process as fast as PES4, which led to many miss-placed passes :realmad: .

I know how to play PES5 where I could batter people consistently, but it involves a lot of ugly football. PES5 relyed heavily on speed, in my experience. Have quick players practically on the touchlines, and switch the play and make them run down the wings to cross or drag back. BORING!

Since it looks like PES6 ain't coming out on Xbox, I'll be getting it on the 360.

What a great topic. Makes a change from people bitching about Konami being 'lazy' at least.

For me, PES5 was the best in the series because it did take the step to realism a lot further then the acarde-ish PES4. Whilst 4 was fun, it allowed cheap goals which ruined multiplayer.
PES5 was much more balanced and rewarded creative thinking as opposed to sprinting thru defences. You could have some absolutely thrilling games and also some lifeless 0-0's. It's a great reflection of true football.
There were some very infuriating aspects to the game, don't get me wrong. CPU AI can be particularly annoying and the passing wasn't quite right sometimes. However, I feel that the series took such large steps forward in some areas that these irritating aspects became more obvious due to the fact they didn't improve equally.

I don't expect PES6 to take such a huge step forwards as PES5, but rather make a continual progression whilst correcting these annoyances. It won't be perfect but it will be the the closest thing to it until PES7 comes out.

Bring it on!
