Have you tried playing as a team who aren't Liverpool yet?

Disclaimer: Genuine, sincere question. In fact, if this question were a man's "looking to meet" description, he'd be considered perfect.

Dude how can you claim FM08 to be 'too easy to win things'?

Fair enough, if you've won the League/CL/FA Cup etc with Liverpool but have you tried winning the lot with a skint Histon? If you've not then give that a go, maybe you won't find the game so easy.

Play as a team who aren't Liverpool or Barcelona, or similar.

If you're winning everything with ease with these teams, then surely the logical next step would be to try a team who aren't considered one of the stronger ones in their league?

I, for example, am currently managing in the Portuguese Second Division Group D; a part-time village team called Club Piedade, or something similar. We play in a purple kit. Luis Boa Morte was born in this village. We have yet to win a game, after 7 of them.

Easy? Fuck no. Am I better than you at Football Manager? Probably.

I remember playing as Hibs in FM2006 (last one I had) and they were wad. I thought things were turning when I brought in Nacho Novo and DJ Campbell as the new strike partnership and we got a late draw at Ibrox, and got to the semis of the Scottish cup, but the cunting board sacked me in January. I don't know what the fuck they expected, but it was a tragedy for all involved.

Love that line :chanlaugh:

Honestly, Shankley, I always play with Birmingham, thats a tough one for me. Highest i took them was 9th in the Premiership.

Teams like liverpool is a piece of piss, especially as Barcelona as you only really have to worry about one team which is real.

It is more satisfying and challenging winning the big trophies as a lesser team. On FM08 I have won the Serie B, Serie A, Coppa Italia, Champions League, Italian Super Cup, European Super Cup and the World Club Cup with Lecce. Everything, basically.

I was at no point saying you were shit at the game.

The fact is, you can win high profile trophies with low profile teams - you just need to be good at the game, as well as being determined and patient.

I just don't see how you can call the game too easy when you haven't actually completed most of the learning curve; by restricting yourself to managing high-profile clubs that demand instant success - even if you deliver it - you're nullifying what all the purists will tell you is the biggest challenge in the game.

I'd really recommend starting in a division outside of the top one or two in any given country, pick a random team and see how you get on.

Obviously the other big no-no is scouring forums on the internet to find out who turns into a gem in 2019 and just buying all of them without proper scouting. But that's another story for another day.

New season new file new Database.

What a game, Mcfadden scored from a 85 yard dribble and rounded the keeper to finish it in the back of the net.

Bent in the final minute (90+5) scored with a great control if it were real. A boot from the keeper for him to control and just outside the box into the top corner.

Best win so far.
