aye most stuff in America is cheaper, I'm into footy, and I was shopping around for a certain pair of footy boots, there was an online store over here who had them at their RRP (£140) then I found an America site who had them for $150!!! nearly fucking half price...

I never bought them because I heard when you've paid for the item+shipping, it'll arrive at your door and you'll be slapped with customs duty or some crap like that.

Trainers and footwear are so much cheaper it's quite astonishing really. Bought about 3 pairs of trainers when I was strolling around New York, the most common price I found for trainers, even the real sexy ones were $75-100 which is basically about £37-50. Amazing really, but found it almost impossible to find football boots over there, they only had some horrible American tacky ones. Their clothing sizes are all over the place though, if you're an average sized person from the UK, you basically need a size Small in shirts etc over there. But most shops only seemed to stock Mediums to XXXL. I had to ask almost everytime if they could go in the back and fetch me a Small/Medium.

Games such as The Godfather and what not were selling for around $15 which is qutie ridiculous. Only the high-end games would be selling for $50 which is still quite good really.

Ok, this is gonna rally on for ages but its this simple. If you go on track record of consoles and games systems, Sony has beaten pretty much every one it comes up against. Saturn, N64, X Box, Gamecube. Based on specification alone, the PS3 is a more powerful console.
Christmas time i VERY nearly purchased a 360, had priced them up and saved up enough money. But stopped. Because apart from Gears Of War, it seemed most of the games were quite poor, or just continuations of a series made popular on the sony consoles. My mate did by an X Box 360, with Gears of War, Tony Hawks, Rainbow Six:Vegas and Pro Evolution Soccer, and within 2 months had sold his console. He purchased online play, but did not enjoy playing on the system. I found the same when i played on it. The controller feels uncomfortable, and some games feel rushed.
So i waited, and i purchased a PS3. I have not played a bad game yet on the PS3. I own Fall Of Man, Tony Hawks (the same as the X Box Game, but i don;t play it) Virtua Tennis, Fight Night 3, NBA 2K7 and The Darkness, 5 of which games are available on X Box aswell.

Its down to personal taste of course, but X Box seems to really fear Sony (hence announcing X Box Elite weeks after PS3's release)
Buying a top X Box Console with two controllers, X Box Live for a year, the HD-DVD Add oncomes to approx the same as a PS3, with a bigger Hard Drive and an Internet browser. Cost is not much difference.

And reading peoples comments, it seems alot of x box fans are on here bad mouthing PS3, Ps3 fans are quite quiet, probs coz they are too busy playing on their consoles!

I personally would buy a PS3 over a X-Box 360 but it doesnt bother me in the slighest what console anybody here on this forum or anywhere else in the world buys as it doesnt affect me or anybody I know. Thats all I have to say about it.

I'm sick of the 360 vs PS3 argument. I got a 360 for christmas because it was out, some of my mates had one, the games between both are similar and I could get the new PES. However, given the choice, I would definately have a PS3, it's an excellent console. Microsoft have caught up this time, I thought the PS2 was far superior to the Xbox, but at the moment theres little to choose between them.

Whilst there is no definitive answer, it is impossible for me to be wrong. Let's just say that I will be very surprised given some of the rumblings coming from Konami if we don't ever see MGS4 on a 360. If anything, it would make terrific financial sense.

Regardless of that specific game, however, there just doesn't seem to be anything worth owning a PS3 for. Even the 360 controller is better. :erm:

Right now 360 is leading with a better variety of games and the price. come next year is when the ps3 will start to shine. thats what everyone is predicting.

Strange that, my mate had a 360 and bought a PS3, then sold the PS3 a few weeks later, go figure.

It's nothing to argue about though, I think at the moment it's obvious which has a better selection of games to enjoy. But in a few years time, all 360 fans will probably buy a PS3 when it becomes truly next-gen. I can't see Sony bringing out PS4 for another 6+ years so we may as well buy a PS3 somewhere down the line once they secure exclusives that are worth playing.

As for MGS4 on the 360, it's merely rumours to be honest, but I do expect the rumours to flare up a lot again. I can possibly see it coming to the 360 by next Christmas maybe, especially since it's the last MGS, they'll want to make the most out of it.

Sony does their stuff, but so does M$, did you even knew that a third or more of the xbox's have to go get repaired in less than 6 months of use? M$ had to extend the warranty for that. Well i agree on parts but on the repair thing i know loads of people, and most of the them own a 360 & PS3 together, and thier 360's hasn't gone wrong once(exept one but that was his fault), everthing is fine and "Money well spent" and said they would rather have the 360 than PS3 because they are impressed with what MS have done and the quality of it. And whats more, its only thier second console and its Sonys 3rd and look at the difference, its like comparing the PS1 - Xbox, it was both companies first console.
