Gears of war. Co-op campaign with a friend was brilliant and I played online with friends for months and months.

PS: PES2008 over Rainbow Six Vegas?

You've got to be kidding me...

Gears was released in 2006 was it not?

If we're allowed to voted for games from previous years then why isnt Goldeneye on this poll??

Goldeneye - most perfectly made game EVER.

It was released November 2006 for 360 but late 2007 for PC so that's why it's on the list. It's game of the year 2007 so you can't have goldeneye on there can you? lol.

Call of Duty 4 is my Game of The Year. I haven't got a Nintendo Wii so haven't played Super Mario Galaxy but I'm sure that's class.

Footy Manager for me, for being able to play a game and stay entertained for hours on end, you just can't beat it.

While I first said Bioshock, Mass Effect is almost as good as KotOR I and II and is on par with Bioshock.

Having played Crysis over at a friend of mine, I was disappointed. The story-telling borders on the ridiculous, like Far Cry's story.

Considering both games are developed by Crytek and Crysis is published by EA, I'm not surprised that the story will suck.

haven't played lots of games on the list, but Assassin's creed is a really good game, I know it gets repetitive but I just can't see beyond the beautiful graphics and amazing models.

Bioshock won it. Halo 3 picked up best multiplayer game and most addictive. Should of been CoD4 that picked up them two awards and I'm sure many other people will agree with me.

Bioshock ain't that amazing. No multiplayer, and a fairly good (and that's all) single player means it can't be game of the year. I'm not going to play it again.

g33k, just looked at your sig and I am in awe at how you think Pro Evo 4 is the best pro Evo. If you were to stick PES 4 into ur ps2 then you would see my friend how badly it lacks. the shooting is bloody awful. Unlike the modern PESs in this game you have to put full power on a shot to even trouble the keeper. scorig is unbelievable difficult in this game.

PES 5 now thats what I believe was the best PES. Just look at the front cover. it oozes coolness. And it has a decent them tune and much improved gameplay. Its went pearshaped since PES 5 though Im afraid.

Why no Final Fantasy XII on the list?

I'm a Final Fantasy fan and even I thought that game sucked.

A single player game can't be game of the year? Not all games are suited to multiplayer and there are a lot of people like me who prefer single player.

If it was that good it would have some replay value, of which it has none. It gets bloody boring towards the end. I thought it was better than Half-Life 2 when I was playing the first half (and that's saying a lot). It started to drag and got pretty monotonous, and the end boss was gay, along with the endings. Not a bad game, but there are certainly superior games.
