Getting good players in V. Hard ML Mode

OK im playing at Top Player and Very Hard ML Mode, and i started off with the original (shitee) team, and now im about 2012 and i have very good players but they arent good originally, just have progressed. I want players like Henry, Rooney, C. Ronaldo, Raul, etc. and i can never seem to buy them! im sure this strategy is wrong but i try and put the lowest contract length and the highest transfer fee and try and up the salary as well...

am i doing the right thing? any suggestions on how to get these players?
also i had a team full of top players when i was playing on Hard ML Mode, so im no noob or anything but i do need help here!

What is you rank in the WEFA rankings? I think it also depends whether your club is in a better league position than their club.

As man utd, I tried to buy C.Ronaldo. It took 4 seasons offering the best wages possible. He finally signed aged 29. (I was easily the best ranked team)
I gave up with Rooney
The best way is wait till they regenerate and get them young, for free.
Messi signed with no problems though.
its just horses for courses...

Haha. I'm the same. Just keep exiting and restarting until you get your man. It's like that film Groundhog Day when Murray tries countless amount of times to win McDowell over.

there is a stupid strategy
by injure any player you want (red injure) before transfer days
you well see that team will accept the tranfer
