Started a master league in Seria B. Now i have played some games 2 player , some europa league tournament and exhabitions matches.
Having played my first 4 matches in master league mode why is my goalkeeper so Crap. Every game the opposition scores from there first shot, infact last game they had 3 goals from 3 shots on target. I think he has made about 3 saves in 4 matches altogether letting in about 10 goals.

Let me know
  1. Difficulty you are playing on.
  2. OPR of your keeper;and
  3. Value of Goalkeeping and Saving stats of your goalkeeper.

The most important player of any winning team is the keeper. No matter how much you score, I can guarantee you that if you don't conceed you can't lose.

This said, that is an awful keeper. Saving is too low for that Goalkeeping, either the GK is high and Saving a bit lower, or both are average. High Balls is rather nice, but I guess that isn't your main concern.

My advice: save money, make a long term investment and buy a quality stopper. I can vouch for Cillessen, rather young, very good reflexes, excellent Saving, the best of the game in Outfield (Passing, etc). He's quite cheap too, I don't know how much he cost me but was way less than other options like Cortouis, De Gea, Perin, etc.

people make the mistake of bringing their keeper out right at the last moment before the AI shoot when 1 on 1 where he won't get anywhere near the ball as he's moving and the same with a lob if your finger is still on triangle when the lob is made then you only have the woodwork to save you 1% of the time, more often than not if you don't rush youre keeper when AI is close to goal and shoots, chances are he'll leap right or left and save or parry and same when facing a lob, if you quickly stop rushing your GK the millisecond you think the AI is about to lob then your GK will almost definitely catch the ball.

I think buying a much better keeper will be my next signing in the January Transfer window.
Do you have to press a button to get him to dive for a shot now, i thought it was auto goalkeepers. like matjohn85 says is t triangle to bring your keeper out for a 1 on 1.
No paper manual with the game this year was a bit poor i thought.

yes the keeper's are auto unless you hold L1 and flick R3 i think (set-pieces) But what i mean is your keeper will be much more ready to save shot's if he is stationary when the computer player strikes the ball as your keeper will be set (like real life) if your holding triangle to close an angle between goal and player or rushing to a ball that's 50/50 then fine , BUT IF YOUR RUSHING YOUR KEEPER AT THE TIME A SHOT IS FIRED then he won't be set to dive so it will feel like the goal is 50ft wide as he doesn't barely dive untill the ball hits the back of the net, and this is what your experiencing i believe.

So my advice would be either rush if you think you will get close enough to stop a shot, or if you know he's that close it's not worth even starting to rush then literally just stand their and i find a save is 60% over 40% but if you go to the stiker then chances are maybe 10% you will save. IMO
