First of all, I'm upset it has come to this but the truth of the matter IMO the king has gone backwards. Excuse me if you love the latest installment, this topic is not for you but I wont fight to protect this games honor anymore. Or blind myself with lies to keep this game alive throughout the years.

Im a big football fan and a massive PES fan my whole life. I've been around since the earliest of days. Still remember the fun we used to have as kids with PES 1, PES 2, ISS 98 Deluxe. The glory days when Fifa were left in the dirt and embarrassed themselves yearly. They couldnt match the fun and quirky simulation that was pro evolution soccer.

Ever since PES6, the perfect football game, the series has struggled alot. Yes I had fun with PES 07, 08, 09, 10 but they kept breaking the basic principle of the game. The latest game was the last straw for me and it amazes me after all the money we give Konami, they keep releasing a game with a few alterations and some for the worst. Notice they changed the menu from green to blue this year.... wow. Who cares about that, why arent they fixing Online? why is it the same sluggish crap every fricken year. This is the winning formula, so what if the game is simple. A football game with no lag just like the way COD runs = perfect.

Well you see my brother is a fifa fan, still appreciates pro for the little it offers. After purchasing both games for the first time in 5 yrs. I sat down and gave fifa 12 an unbiased run in, previously very biased towards pro, even blinded. What do you know? its an awesome game. Im writing this from work and Im itching to go home and play so badly. I havent felt like this about a football game for years?

Konami/PES have lost there edge and are relying on this niche market to support this mess. Well I play football games in a group of 7 close mates, we all felt the same and would protect it. Well guess what, we all feel the same and were kicking it. We all returned our copies, and I think Konami should learn there lesson, PES fans are a dying breed. I used to argue but you cant help the inevitable. Im sick of the next year, 13,14,15.... yeah yeah you'll fix online one day. Why can my brother play flawlessly online for the last 4 yrs and I'm to scared to even attempt online in pro on a daily basis, its shocking man.

Signing out, this is my opinion and others from my circle of friends. Its personal and I respect you for sticking to Konami. Its been too long for me.

haha Fifa IS NOT an awesome game. I'm convinced EA are using some kind of mind control technique to manipulate people.

You talk about Pro being poor online, how about Fifa offline...its fundamentally broken. Players disappear from starting line ups, changing settings during a game don't take effect unless you exit and start a brand new one. Don't even get me started on that 'revolutionary' defensive system with its invisible 2-ft force fields.

Don't sit there going about honour and rubbish like that, pretending that you even care about Pro. If you don't like the game, fair enough, but don't talk rubbish and pretend the alternative is so much better.

It isn't!

I hate to say it DaveyC17, but the opening post may be right in many ways. I have written long and often boring (to some) posts about PES in the past, and this PES this year. I have been totally unbiased and regard myself as a PES player first and foremost. I have highlighted all the brilliant things in PES. I played the demos to death, I've played the release to death so far. BUT, for all it's brilliance in some areas, there are truly some detrimental things in others. Gong forward the game plays like a dream. It's seamless. The problem is that this years iteration is full on arcade, the only to way to match the CPU and their 'Red Army Attacking Onslaught' is to fight fire with fire which renders the game into a complete attack-counter attack fest.

The game doesn't reward possession play enough for me an the best and easiest way to score is to be as direct from back to front as possible.

I too have picked up the dark game on rent. I thought the FIFA demo was a slow shower of shit. But I gave it a go because of the sliders, and guess what after personalizing the hell out of it, I've now got near enough the best all round game. It doesn't have PES' attacking AI, but it's adequate enough. The real joy comes from defending, which I think is great this year. I am in no way a FIFA fan boy, I hate EA and everything it stands for. I detest the people on their forum who have been blind to its many shortcomings over the years. I like the PES community more, I like the forums more, there's something pure about PES compared to FIFA.

But like the OP post says, enough is enough, and I've had too many games the last four or five days that have left me shaking my head. Top Player is a recipe for blatant CPU cheating. I could give you a list as long as my arm.

If KONAMI sorted the game speed out, balanced attack v defence, and had more build up play from the CPU the game would be the best game ever. As it stands at the moment it's just too randomly scripted and too frustrating. To get the best out of the game I firmly believe you have to play it in wide cam at gamespeed 0, and you HAVE to play one hundred miles an hour football. As a game in itself it'll give you that adrenaline rush for those ten minutes your playing it, as a football sim, I think it's miles away.

Shoot me down guys, feel free. But I can no longer keep defending the indefensible. I'll keep PES on the mantlepiece and wait for the community guys to do their magic and basically change the stats and teams setups. Until then, it's too unplayable for me, even though it has many stunning points like individuality, fluidity, body movement and momentum etc etc.

Notice my excuse me if you enjoy the game. Dont be a fool man, I wouldnt sit here proclaiming the joy I had for the game if I didnt feel it offered anything in the past. Stop being a fan boy too, you sit there and write about fifa 12 but I bet you havent even given it a chance.

Yes change settings during a game is a flaw, but not enough to lose appreciation for a LAG less game. The most part of games played online were smooth. I enjoy that and Konami havent done anything to fix up there fucked up netcode.

You can keep giving them your money but I for one wont. Take your fued elsewhere man, Im just sharing my experience. And the reason Im not happy is because I pay them cash and they give me trash. Mind control??? the reason pro is still alive is mind control. Its poor delivery and excuses everytime. I was like you so I can understand your responce.

FIFA is not perfect but I prefer it because purely they know how to sell a game to a football fan like myself. PES will sell you last years game with a new wrapper. Cant fool me again...

MY opinion, come at me bro. YOUR opinion is fine but dont start accusing me of not caring, Ive cared for 13 years. Dont be a fool seriously. The latest PES is a joke, its blatant.

Yeah my favourite line to people, FIFA is a gamers game, for kids but PES is a footballers game. Keep trolling man... I just dont want to defend this peice of shit anymore.

If its broken, replace it, sick of there broken promises. Arent you? FIFA may not be better for you thats fine. But try to see it from my point of view. ITS THE ONLY WAY I can play a football game smoothly online? thats where Im coming from and thats what I want. Konami's game is in shambles every year, they could easily blow FIFA and screw EA but they know they will sell to there true dedicated fans anyway.

Can't say I blame you, but I honestly don't see why you felt the need to proclaim it. As you said, you're moving on, and you're saying goodbye to a community that you have spent time with for 10 posts...

what a pompous, patronising...1 2 3 4 5 breathe.

listen mate you crack on, but don't come on here with such grandiose declarations when the alternative is nowhere near as superior or awesome as you proclaim.

pro 12 is a good game. its not perfect but what is? pro 6 and Fifa 10 where near perfection but by todays standards even they have their flaws. just like both current iterations.

I seriously feel you're a mug though if you're so easily prepared to discard one completely in favour of a rival which is no great shakes.

- After years of supporting PES, it must have been a major disappointment for him to finally stop playing the series. A major event in his gaming life and maybe he didnt want such an occurrence to go completely in vain to he wanted his voice to be heard
- Wanted people to listen to his frustrations he wanted to vent out as a loyal supporter of the PES series for years
- Wanted people to listen to his genuine disappointment in Konami in what he feels are major steps backwards for the series
- maybe he is just a Fifa fan boy wanting to stir up something
- Like everyone else who posts in this forum, he wanted to discuss his opinions
- Again, maybe he feels there is a chance his message is shared by others and such an accumulation of shared feelings can get a message across to Konami to maybe fix the issues that he feels the series has
- Maybe wanted to see how others felt about his views; because he didnt just say he is going to stop playing PES, but he gave a very detailed and sincere analysis to why he is leaving pes
- Maybe he felt that he wanted to enlighten other players, who support Konami wholeheartedly yet do not realize the certain issues that he feels are in the game
- Maybe thought there was a very slim chance that someone would have posted an absolutely phenomenal post that would alter his views
- It easier to share frustrations with others than to just keep it to their selves so he wanted to make this post in a forum he thought was the most popular konami forum; and in that regard and considering the notion of his 9 posts, he maybe intended to share his frustrations with more than just pesgaming but just chose this avenue to do so
- Wanted to just have a discussion period and his lenghty post is ore than enough to stimulate one
- etc etc etc, and so many more potential reasons

I honestly do not see how you honestly didn't see the need he felt to proclaim what you felt he proclaimed.

PES has been lacking these last years and it's finally up on a similar level as FIFA is, and you're leaving NOW?

My brother-in-law made the switch to PES this year after having played FIFA for about as long as they have existed.

You know what's funny? If you go back years in this forum to old posts about PES5 and PES6, you get the same kind of rants, FIFA is better etc... Go play FIFA, no one cares that you don't like PES. Some might look back and consider this one of the best PES games in 5 years time and people will be ranting on then just as they are now!

If you don't like it, go away and stop attention seeking! FIFA is a good game, maybe better than PES in some ways, and vice-versa.

Its down to opinion, for me PES might not be the most realistic but I just get more fun out of it, thats why I keep buying it. Simple.

Just a quick side note. Sorry kid but there was no PES 7. Not sure how much of a fan you really are seriously. Just another trollin' fifa fanboi? :)

I said the same thing in 2008, now I'm back and I love this game more than any other years. Fifa is a great game this year and I look at anyone who doesn't like it, as just an EA hater. Or they suck at the new defending. I was going to get Fifa 12 again but I played the PES 2012 demo and it brought back some good memories, so I decided to buy it. I don't regret it at all. I think I've already spent more time playing PES 2012 (mostly MLO) than I did all of Fifa 11.

There's no reason to hate Konami or EA just cause you don't like their game this year. Do you really believe they put no work into the game every year? They put countless hours and days, probably going 2-3 days sometimes without sleep. It's not easy to make a video game like everyone thinks. You can notice a lot of gameplay changes this year (changes that actually matter). I have had lag online maybe 1 game out of 80 or 90 that I've played, so that must be a regional thing.

But to each his own. I think both games are great this year and It's just a matter of taste. I just hate it when people act like the developers don't care and put no effort into their games.

Here is a quote on PES6 by someone "For the first time EVER i'm actually thinking if FIFA07 would be better for the 360."

Every year...

Guys I'm sorry if I offended you.. I guess I'm frustrated with Konami, not that EA is any better. I'm just stating my points that I feel this thread thus far has achieved some support. I don't hate pes... I just been waiting a long time to reclaim its crown. I love the community, u may say I have 10 posts but I read more than I write on here, no need to judge me for that. The Guy above me Calls me a noob yet he has 69 posts?

I've been a fan for a long time but yes I'm venting my frustration. I understand we may differ in opinion but that's fine. Please don't start with the name calling... a mug. Mate I lived through the glory days of pes, I just don't see the appeal anymore. To each there own... I'm not upset at the community, only konami and refuse to buy into it this year.

So I sincerely appologise, I guess I'm an upset fan.

If you enjoyed 2008 and 2009 like you claim and you can't enjoy this one then haha I don't know what to tell you. Whatever floats your boat.... goodbye!

This is my first fifa I've played since the year 2001 and that game sucked. Don't be a hater I'm not a fan boy of anything in life, let alone a money hungry corporation like EA. Stay on topic or go away..
