Grassy Pastures this year

So this year the Master League allows you to decide what type of conditions will prevail on the pitch. Seems logical when you think about it, after all the Pitch is Yours ;)

But the question is do you use this feature at all?
If you do, how do you use it?
What advantages/disadvantages does it provide?

Help a guy out here, answer the questions above.

Nice subject you brought up...

This is what I get from my experience:

- Wet turf makes the ball go further with the same pace, when compared to the dry turf. Makes a big difference, I would say it travels 20/25% more.

- Wet turf makes the ball go faster, and accelerate, when shot/passed near the grass. Kinda like the real deal.

- Wet turf makes the sliding tackles... slide. When on dry turf the players go down and stop. When it is wet the players slides a few centimeters, around half a meter, and if you do one of those tackles that award an early shower, even if they don't seem to be catching the opposition, your player will slide and tackle him.

- That's about it

Do you mean that you can choose whatever weather you like?

No, no. I meant that you can choose the length of the grass and if it will be dry or wet. You can choose weather only in exhibition and online matches.

does that imply we should select dry pitch for teams with short pass as their strategy?
do you also know anything about how the length of the grass affects gameplay?

also, Ali could you tell me how these things affect football games in real life?

Has anyone seen any in game tips about this, at all?

Didn't know you could change the grass length.

In real life... I dunno.... the game is a lot slower on the wet pitch. More difficult to control the ball and pass etc.

I doubt that. Usually the games I see from Old Trafford, they always water the pitch before games. If you want to change the grass length, Select the "stadium" option under the "Kick off" option after selecting the Go to next match

I would say it is faster, and due to that it is more difficult. The ball doesn't have any friction with the wet grass, just like when you walk on it with normal shoes: very slippery and dangerous.

Of course this is wet grass, not raining. If the water is too much it will slow the ball down.

As for the grass length I would apply the same principle: bigger grass means more friction, and the ball should travel slower/stop faster. But I'm just saying what's logical to me, I have no idea if the game behaves like this.

Ah, ok. I was talking about if it's raining. But yeah, in your case it'll speed up the ball. I'm guessing there's also less risk of injuries if the grass/ground is soft and wet (giggity). Easier on the hamstrings and softer when you fall. I'm not a groundsman and I don't play football, so I'm just speculating here. :)

Awww...now I am starting to wish I knew some groundsmen. But I am in the same boat as you are, never played much football on grass.

off topic. but i find the rain looks brilliant, But it is no where near realistic in regards it has on the pitch. I mean it should make the players jersey's alot more muddier especially if they've been sliding about and they should look soaked like real football. all the players look like they're bone dry, and also the pitch should wear alot say if it's raining the whole match well by the 70th minute you should really notice a difference in gameplay and speed and pattern of the pitch.
