David Villa- costs loads but he's scored 30+ in 20 matches including 3 hat tricks, not the quickest but intelligent runs and lethal finishing.

Odonkor- absolute lightning
Zabaleta- Good alround midfielder, reasonably cheap
Nihat- good player for new teams, easy to get and pretty good
Taylor and Bos- improve rapidly
Sergio gonzales- another one for new teams, rock solid central midfielder, getting on a bit tho.

Buy some one called SCHWARZ! iv had him one season played him quite a bit he gets unreal and always scores reminds me of adriano a bit as is left footed and has a power shoot! in my 3 rd season after having him just one he scored a hatrick! he is buzzing good at heading 2! shooting accuracy is 90 at the mo and power! alos van der varrt is amazing true!

I think Ruskin, Jaric and Dodo are the best players in the first year. The attacking midfielders are shite, they are slow and cannot fee the strikers. Ordaz and Hamsun have their moments (few and far between mind you) I try to sign a decent striker and alternate playing time between them.

dont know if anyone knows anything about this......it would be a GREAT help if they could tell me.....

On my "Create a Club" mode, has anyone else come across the thing where you tinker with you team in negotiation bit, and then go back to the player search box to then find out you can buy certain players who are way too expensive for you, but yet you CAN add them.....?? i reallly would like to do this again....so if anyone knows how...

El Moubarki (becomes somewhat of a utility man, as his height and heading ability comes in usefull in centre mid, or centre half, i rarely use him as a full back)

Tmorautki is an absolute beast. I highly recommend him as his stats seem to rival Gerrard. Starting shot power is in the 90s and pretty young. A massive upgrade compared to your other options (Minanda is manure)

Dodo has been absolutely fantastic defending in the middle. That guy is the only guy from the default players that I still start and feel no need to find a replacement for (until much later).

yeah Dodo Fouque Espimas and gutierrez have managed to stay in my squad

Dodo and gutierrez are still in my 1st team but i'm thinking of replacing guti next negotiations

Fouque is a star in my second team though, I've kept giersen and el M for the sake of selling them later cos they can get quite good, and jaric and baumann too, but they'll all go soon Espimas is great too in my 2nd team

Dodo and fouque seem to be the only 2 that will remain from the original squad.

Ettori seems good in terms of development curve but is seriously shite in the game!!!
Minanda was good but old and he wanted another contract so i said screw him same with macco!!

Player I kept was Van Den Berg, very good dmf, stops everything.
Player to avoid = Diego, biggest let down ever Although I think he looks cool so hes still in my team as captain Passing is good enough

Player I can't recommend enough = Gourcuff!

I started as Newcastle and I think I've only kept Owen, Martins, Given and Steven Taylor, every other player's gone lol. Except Viduka! No one will sign him.

I hung on to Owen because he becomes world-class again after 1 or 2 seasons, 95 stats on anything important for a striker.

And Martins because I wanted a pacey wing-forward. Can't get better than 99 speed and acceleration. I've toyed with others in his place but they never rack up as many assists as him (something like 35 in a season!)

Taylor's still there because he has some growth potential, and is a good stand-in when my 1st choice CB's are out of form.

Given is also a legend of a keeper by any standards. Both skills and reaction in the 90's, covers well for Akinfeev.

Dotan (Landon Donovan) is fantastic...very good as a AMF....Akinfeev is a solid young russian keeper as well

Wesley Sneijder. 20 goals a season from midfield. He is pretty expensive, though. I play Royston Drenthe at LMF, he's my leading goal-maker, but no-one else seems to do this, despite this probably also being his best position in real life.

Makaay is surely getting on a bit? Also, Claus and Nakamura are oldish aren't they?

Lahm I've had, and his stats don't reflect his real-life quality I think, though if you had him as first choice then maybe.

Personally, I think that Akpo Sodje, Adam Bolder and Marcus Tudgay are better.

if you want a decent young keeper then buy foster, its a bit of a risk giving him the games to improve, unless your top of the league and have some games you can lose

Jaric! On PES5 he had a brilliant story. He was in my reserves initially, and I offloaded all my original ML players and got better real people. But then I realise I hadn't got rid of Jaric, put him in my team and he becomes brilliant. Eventually became captain.

I held onto Stein for a while, he was great at long goals.

Some good classic players: Laudrup, Maradona and Batistuta (in real, in game they are: Landroam, Malgani and Baquistata). Maradona is definitely one of the best players in the game! Good dribling and shooting stats! And Batistuta is wonderful at shooting he has great shots power. From normal players I very like Quaresma: great trivela kicks and rabonas!
