Guide for Editing Licensed Teams Kits

Chuck Morris

aka BlueScouse
After numerous people have asked me how to edit the kits of the licensed teams i decided to make a thread about it so everyone knows how to do it, you don't need the PC version and you don't need a chipped PS2.

To do this you need the following;

Once you have these you are now ready to edit the kits for the licensed teams. This is how to do it;

1). Firstly you need to make a copy of your option file and store it on your PC, rename it as PES5_User.

2). Now load up PES5 with the other copy of your option file and go to the Edit Mode. Go into Edit Team and chose any unlicensed club team you want. Now change their kits, emblem, name and stadium to that of the licensed team you wish to edit over.

3). Once your happy with everything save this and exit the edit mode. Turn off the PS2.

4). Insert your Max Drive CD and the Max Drive into your PS2, make sure the max drive is empty. Copy the option file from the memory card to the max drive and turn off the PS2.

5). Plug the max drive into your PC and move the option file to your desktop, rename it as PES5_Edit. Now open up the Max to X-port File Converter, go to file, load .max, open up the PES5_User file and then go to file, save .xps and save. Do the same with the PES5_Edit file aswell.

6). Load up the Pesfan Editor and go to file and open up the PES5_User.xps file. Go back to file and open up the PES5_Edit.xps file as the OF2.

7). Go to 'Team' and scroll down to the licensed team whose kits you created on the PES5_Edit option file and double click on their name. A box will appear that says 'Import Kit' with a list of all the club teams. Scroll down to the team you edited over and double click on them.
A new box will appear that says 'Chose logo to replace', select the logos for the kits you edited. The kits will now be imported for the licensed team.

8). Change the colour of the flag to the correct one for the licensed team and make sure that the name and stadium are correct. Everything should be ok now.

9). Go to file and save it to your desktop as PES5_OF. Now you need to open up the max/x-port converter go to file, load .xps, open the PES5_OF file and then go to file, save .max and save it to your desktop.

10). Delete everything off the max drive and copy the PES5_OF.max file to the max drive. You also need to delete the old option file from your memory card. Insert the max drive cd and the max drive into the PS2 and then Uncrush the new option file to the memory card.

Once this is done load up PES5 and you will now have fully editable kits for the licensed team!

Any questions just ask.

You have 2 copies of the option file, one is stored on the PC the other will be on the max drive. The one stored on the PC is the main one, the other is just one to store kits for licensed teams.

It's no problem m8, I am glad you discovered it too and had the time to make use of it; your option file is really great.

The PESFan Editor can't read .max files, you need to convert them to .xps first.

Are you sure you converted it from a .Max fiile to an .Xps file? You don't have to name it as PES_User, that was really just a kind of guideline for people to use.
