Guide to Patching WE10 (PS2 DVD)

Well it's not really that complicated. You can get the PS2 emulator and plugins from http://www.ngemu.com/ps2 . After configuring the emulator (which should not be hard at all, only takes time to test different plugins), you can try booting your images. That's by setting your cdvd plugin to "Linuzappz Iso Cdvd driver" to boot your images. The problem comes here though. In order to be able to use the emu, you need the PS2 bios. Giving the bios files on the net is illegal though. This is what the PCSX2 staff has to say about it:
CKEmu @ PCSX2's offical forum said:
It is Illegal to ask for a BIOS, as the BIOS is copyright of SONY. If you wish to use a REAL BIOS with PCSX2, you can dump it from your own PS2 (there are guides on the internet for that). Or find it by yourself.

I'm not really good at explaining, so for more details you can visit their official forum: http://forums.ngemu.com/pcsx2-official-forum/

Zygalski, Let me first thank you for the guide. It really made it easy for me since I had never been able to patch a game before. I have one problem I was hoping you could help me with.

I patched the game exactly as the guide says, but when I boot it in the PS2 it takes more than 5 minutes to load up. The translations are there but after selecting the edit menu it's taking another 10 minutes to load up the edit screen. It still hasn't loaded as I write this. Any insights as to what may be wrong here? Thanks

My guess is that maybe you had other programs running while you were burning. Or maybe you burnt too fast or the disk type you burnt on wasn't right. I'd recommend a max of 4x burning speed but 2x if your disk allows it (slower the better). Use good quality DVD-R disks (Ritek are good). And reset your PC before you burn. Hope some of this helps.

Just to check, did you have programs running? What speed and what type of disk did you use?

Thanks for quick reply man. I just found out what I was doing wrong. The patch was burned fine. This time when loading it I selected Special boot instead of normal boot and it worked perfectly. Thanks again for the guide.

Just one question. If I decide to add an extra patch would my option file work with the new disc?

Yes it should be fine at this stage but later on with different teams on different patches etc you may need different option files for different patches.

I'm looking to add the potty chant patch to my Fernando translation patch. How do you put an extra patch on a game that's already patched? Can I just make an ISO of the already patched game, or do I need the original?

Does that mean i cant patch my cd? Obviously i'll not have 36 GB space free for the game. I've only 40GB hard drive space.

Heres a clearer SS of the decrypter. My hard disk is not in FAT32 format so that shouldnt be the cause.

Problem now is that my cd-driver keeps reading the file non-stop, and my D:\ prompts me to insert a disc although theres already the WE10 disc in it.

Any other ripping program i should try? Alcohol 120 gives me the same result.

Edit : Ok, i just realised that the capacity refers to my hard drive, and not the game's needed capacity. If thats the case, the only problem now is that my driver cannot read the disc.

Hi. The original WE10 game is a DVD so you'll need a DVD drive to be able to read it. A CD drive won't work. Try changing the highlighted drive to a DVD drive and it should work.

oic, do u mean the "[2:0:0] ZJ6132V ATG474 (E: )" that part? As it is, that is the only option i've there.

Does that mean my cd-rom driver cannot read DVD files and thus unable to enjoy the patches unless i purchase a DVD reader or are there other alternatives i can give it a try?

Quick question guys not sure if its the right section, but i patched my WE10 with a Fernando's patch
(okay maybe i didnt do it my self my younger bro did it!!) But was there with him and he used a DVD+R to burn it after succesfully patching it. It works well but there are too manay delays in the game. Eberytime the ball goes into touch, the screen freezes and we have to wait for ages before iot loads up agin. Takes about 30 minutes to finish one game anyone with an idea why its that slow?

It's a different type of blank DVD that runs better on most PS2s.
DVD+R is different to DVD-R.
DVD-R is better for PS2 games.
