Jaric was always a good player for me. I played him either in defensive midfield, or at left back. He would also take up right-side corner kick duties, as well as short and long free-kicks. He would also often end up recieving the captaincy after a few of the older players moved on.
Ruskin has been useful at times. I've often played him further forward as an orthodox winger, though, due to his poor body balance and small stature, but great pace and good crossing.
Valeny has been my best centre-back in recent versions, albeit short-term, before being phased out of the position to provide cover at full-back.
El Moubarki has never hit the heights he has for others while playing for me, but he has recently started to put in commanding performances at full-back, and provide decent cover at centre-back.
Minanda used to be quality, but in the last few versions he has been surprisingly poor for me. I have actually sold him in the first transfer window the last handful of times to generate funds he has been that poor.
Dodo suffers from sporadic form. He has never been able to bring the consistancy that Cellnili (spelling) once did in defensive midfield, which often leads to Jaric sewing up said position with very litte challenge.
Espimas was fantastic in a recent master league. He was far superior to Ximelez, and Burchet. Burchet actually holds the record for being the most useless waste of space in successive versions of the game, for me anyway.
Hamsun has performed well in central midfield, and attacking midfield, but not so much as a striker.
Ordaz has always been a major let down.
I'm thinking of starting a new Master League, with the default players. In fact, I'm going to do that right now. And the line-up I have in mind looks something like this.
----------------- Ivarov ------------------
El Moubarki -- Valeny -- Baumann -- Ruskin -
------------------ Jaric -------------------
- Espimas ------- Minanda ------- Ximelez -
----------- Huylens -- Gutierrez ------------
I'm going to give Minanda another chance, simply because he was outstanding for me until recent times. If he fails to recapture that form, then I guess I'll be looking to either Van Den Berg, or Ettori. Gierson should feel hard-done-by, as he has performed really, really well for a few versions now, but I'm going to see if El Moubarki can finally push on, and he can't do that without playing. If I push Ruskin further forward, though, Gierson will be in at left-back.
Substitutes (that I actually care to use other than when hell freezes over):
GK - Zamenhoff
DC - Libermann
SB - Gierson
DM/AM - Van Den Berg
SM - Macco
AM/CF - Hamsun
SM/CF - Castolo
The remainder of the sqaud are useless sods, especially Burchet, Stein, Ceicu, and Ordaz. Lothar is simply on too much wages, and over-rates himself further when it's time for a contract renewal. Stremer is better than Ceicu, but still a way off being much use.
I've often overlooked Ettori, and Fouque, so I plan to give them a chance this go around.
