have you noticed that these guys are better than the likes of minanda, ximelez and valeny? have they made some better players to make it a bit easier?

I found Van Den Berg and Baumann utter rubbish - Ettori I sold in my first transfer window, because I needed the money. However, El Moubarki and Gutierrez are definately better than the usual standard of Team Shit.

Ordaz, Jaric and Macco are pretty good too - Jaric should be a midfielder though, I think.

Baumann i don't really play but Ettori is like the new minanda with stamina

That's pretty good - although he'll never really command the same place in my heart as Minanda - I considered retiring the #8 shirt for him when he retired.

Ettori did seem very good, but I really needed the money at the time.

Baumann is like a shorter version of Libermann I thought - both rubbish, but Libermann always strangely played really well for me.

I find Libermann has played well for me the times ive had to use him!

Typical, especially when im trying to get rid of him.

Van Den Berg seems to play a lot better than his stats suggest, hes still makibg sub apperances and starts in my 4th season. Other players I have kept hold of are Gutierrez, El Moubarki and Jaric.

Papa

Thank you for reading.
Jaric is a very good player. Scored a couple of free kicks for me in my first season. Ruskin is also better than his stats suggest. A bit more pace and he would be very good.

Jaric was always a good player for me. I played him either in defensive midfield, or at left back. He would also take up right-side corner kick duties, as well as short and long free-kicks. He would also often end up recieving the captaincy after a few of the older players moved on.

Ruskin has been useful at times. I've often played him further forward as an orthodox winger, though, due to his poor body balance and small stature, but great pace and good crossing.

Valeny has been my best centre-back in recent versions, albeit short-term, before being phased out of the position to provide cover at full-back.

El Moubarki has never hit the heights he has for others while playing for me, but he has recently started to put in commanding performances at full-back, and provide decent cover at centre-back.

Minanda used to be quality, but in the last few versions he has been surprisingly poor for me. I have actually sold him in the first transfer window the last handful of times to generate funds he has been that poor.

Dodo suffers from sporadic form. He has never been able to bring the consistancy that Cellnili (spelling) once did in defensive midfield, which often leads to Jaric sewing up said position with very litte challenge.

Espimas was fantastic in a recent master league. He was far superior to Ximelez, and Burchet. Burchet actually holds the record for being the most useless waste of space in successive versions of the game, for me anyway.

Hamsun has performed well in central midfield, and attacking midfield, but not so much as a striker.

Ordaz has always been a major let down.

I'm thinking of starting a new Master League, with the default players. In fact, I'm going to do that right now. And the line-up I have in mind looks something like this.

----------------- Ivarov ------------------

El Moubarki -- Valeny -- Baumann -- Ruskin -

------------------ Jaric -------------------

- Espimas ------- Minanda ------- Ximelez -

----------- Huylens -- Gutierrez ------------

I'm going to give Minanda another chance, simply because he was outstanding for me until recent times. If he fails to recapture that form, then I guess I'll be looking to either Van Den Berg, or Ettori. Gierson should feel hard-done-by, as he has performed really, really well for a few versions now, but I'm going to see if El Moubarki can finally push on, and he can't do that without playing. If I push Ruskin further forward, though, Gierson will be in at left-back.

Substitutes (that I actually care to use other than when hell freezes over):

GK - Zamenhoff
DC - Libermann
SB - Gierson
DM/AM - Van Den Berg
SM - Macco
AM/CF - Hamsun
SM/CF - Castolo

The remainder of the sqaud are useless sods, especially Burchet, Stein, Ceicu, and Ordaz. Lothar is simply on too much wages, and over-rates himself further when it's time for a contract renewal. Stremer is better than Ceicu, but still a way off being much use.

I've often overlooked Ettori, and Fouque, so I plan to give them a chance this go around.

Ha ha, I fully agree about Burchet being the most useless waste of space ever.

I was looking at the players, and thinking if they were possibly based on real players? Stein, an Irish defensive midfielder who can cover at centre back; Roy Keane... Burchet, an Aussie wing forward who is always in your squad and never players; Harry Kewell. While I think Gutierrez is a bit in the mould of Morientes, and Minanda a bit like Deco.

Last game, Ettori had the best curve of all of the defaults, and usually picked up several goals in his first season. He's just too far away from his peak to hang on to him for too long, though, because he invariably gets a few great offers early on.

I normally play a 4-5-1 with the Kings of Suck.

Good call, mate. Let's see who else there is. Valeny, a French defender with a touch of pace who used to frequent right-back, but now plays centre-back. Lillian Thuram? Jaric, a Serbian centre-back who can play defensive midfield, with solid long passing, who is also a set-piece specialist. Hmm. If he was Dutch I'd say Frank De Boer. But Serbian. Hmm. Sinisa Mihajlovic? Minanda, a Portugues attacking-midfield playmaker. Rui Costa?

------------------- Ivarov ------------------

El Moubarki -- Valeny -- Baumann -- Ruskin -

-------------------- Jaric -------------------

- Espimas ------- Minanda ------- Ximelez -

----------- Huylens -- Gutierrez ------------

I started the season with the above line-up. I have since played 4 league games, and 2 cup games. I won both home games, but lost both away games, in the league, which isn't too bad for this lot! I drew at home in the first leg of the D2 Cup, but won away to go through to the Qtr. Finals.

El Moubarki is out, and Gierson is in, at right-back.

Ximelez is out, and Castolo is in, on the left-side of midfield.

Huylens has been alternating with Fouque, to partner Gutierrez. Neither has scored!

Ettori has played quite well when Minanda has been absent.

Dodo has actually done alright, too, when Jaric has been unavailable!
