Heading the ball towards goal

Not sure if there's already been a thread posted for this. I read a thread concerning headers for PES5 (I'm playing PES2007), but the thread didn't seem like that was any help. I am having trouble heading the ball towards goal during crosses and corners. I've heard using R2 to control the player and waiting til the last second to push square helps. Everytime I head the ball it sails over the goal... so annoying! It just seems so random, as if you'll only connect a good header by chance. Pls. offer any advice, thanks!

It really is opnly a matter of timing and not drilling the ball when you header it.Just tap the square butting when you want to header it and it should come off for you.
Try it oput in training and see what happens.
R2-------------direction you want the ball to go------------square .

I would say it depends largely on who you are using to head the ball. Someone with high heading ability is far more likely to hit the target than someone with lower. Who is it you're using?

Not using anyone in particular. Just needed some tips in general, and I think the advice is working... just need more practice. Before, I would always hold square long before the ball reaches the player thinking that would generate more power, but the ball would just loft over. Now I think I understand how it should be executed. Thanks guys.

I find that heading the ball back into the direction of the corner (i.e. front post) gets more goals, mainly because there seems to be more power in the headers. Again, it depends on the player, but it seems to work more than not.

Go into Training mode & practice. I like to aim for the area near the front post. Goal if no one is marking you.

Judging the height & timing when to press the button is very important like it is in real life.

Too bad I don't play in real life. I wish I did! I'm just a wannabe. All I can do is watch, which I love. I appreciate the tips.
