Hi

Its been a whilde now since I started playing. I am pretty good at build up but my shots dont seem to hit the back of the net. I generally hit the goalie.

Can somebody give me tips on shooting? How do you properly use the R2 Do you press it after you shoot before? for how long?

Thanks

I never use r2,I place my shots.Use your d-pad as a guide to where you want to put the ball in the goal.
Its as simple as that really.
Go into training mode and practice if your that bad,Some of the other guys will probably have better ways but this way never fails me

Will do thanks...but how can you hit the top corner or bottom corner ...the direction is the same but how do you make ie up or down? I would assume pressing the shoot button more makes it go up ? ??

Yes.

I suggest using the R2 button to perfectly place shots. You have to hold it for about 2 seconds before you are about to shoot. It works brilliantly when one-on-one sliding the ball into the net at high speeds.

Just remember you have to hold it for a while. Use your directional buttons to aim too, all this will help to place your shots. Pressing and holding the 'up' button will make your shot more powerful. If you do this on the volley or first time when it drops for you, you will have some powerful shot. If the keeper saves it there is a high chance that he will fumble and drop it so i suggest racing in to tap in the rebound.

You only need to hold R2 while powering your shot. Most importantly see how your player is positioned when shooting. If you are being pressured, turning sharply or with some players even using the wrong foot, the ball will fly frustratingly over the bar. This is less prevalent in 2008 version. If you mastered scoring on PES6 this is easier.
