I play BAL on top player with a guy i made to my own height and weight...with my funny lookin face scan on him LOL (see my avatar for reference lol). He's now 28yrs old, primarily a WF, and has since added CF and SMF through experience. Stats wise ive made a point of giving him a solid spread so he's flexible. Ive obviosly got many seasons under my belt with him now, got many awards along the way and also played alot of international minutes for England. There's the back story.
Anyway, around 2 months or so ago i was playing great, had got 'World Footballer Of The Year' like 3 seasons in a row, playing from SMF mostly too. Consistently solid amounts of goals and assists through my career...not stupid amounts but very decent all things considered as i avoided the super teams alot to secure a solid role in my teams and in turn get the most outta improving my stats. Inter Milan was the only super team i joined through my career i think. I had a 2yr stint there (which was epic tbh) and then another year (which was ok) alot later on down the line.
Anyway, i had been in the french league (which had become very strong) for a while trying to fill up my trophy cabinet lol. After spending..i think 2 seasons there i wanted to move on....thought hey, some great teams from various leagues will be gunning for me due to my solid career stats and the fact that i was worth more than any other player in the game. I was sorely mistaken! Got really bad offers from really bad teams..the best offer looking to be Juventus until i checked their current team to find it had been severely raped on all fronts. In the end i decided to stay in the french league and join Lyon. To my relief if was the most fun, and statistically my 2nd best season so far (yay). Won alot of awards that season and thought now's my time to move on and leave that league on a high. Negotiations came around and to my horror i found no good teams wanted me! Took an offer from some team that currently escapes me. I plodded along for half a season.
Mid-season negotiations came around...again no good teams wanted me! I ended up taking an offer from Villareal as they had a half decent squad on face value and i fancied the spanish league as id never taken on that challenge so far. It also meant more chance of getting in with a great spanish team like Barcalona or Real Madrid. The first half of the season was horrible. My worst to date, enjoyability and statistically in fact. The team were the most disjointed motley f'in crew i had ever played with. Worked my ass off for that team and in return nobody would put away even the easiest opportunities i offered up to them, and on top of that i would never be given even the most simple correctly placed pass that was needed to finish off a great run id made. They even dropped me in a DMF/CMF a few times which simply doesnt suit my stats (sigh).The end of the season comes and with with my persitence we finish in a reasonable position in the league considering the lack of quality from the rest of the squad during that season. Villareal dont offer me another contract! Not that i wanted to stay...far from it, but i felt offended by the games absolute disregard for my solid and genuine attempts to take the squad to a higher plain than it deserved to be.
Again no great teams put in any offers! Seems like id constantly been getting at least 3 of the bottom 2 teams in their league taking up offer spots for weeks on end every negotiation period for a few seasons now. I was losing the will to continue a career that had become jaded at no fault of my own.
I took a late offer from Real Betis, aged 28 (supposedly around a players peak age in general). The team seemed above average at least, and they're fomation suited me well. I was back to my natural WF kinda position although it classed me as a SMF that was pushed up really high. Took me a few games to get that chemistry going with the players...you know, who's good at what, the general pace of the squad and what you can expect from certain players. After that we started winning alot and i started getting back on track with my usual average of a 7.0 rating, getting goals and assists. Suddenly, out of nowhere the team around me just gave up! We started to slip down the league standings fast. On top of that they were leaving me out of the starting lineup for all cup matches..and losing them all LOL. Felt like i was back at Villareal again at this point...the team that didnt wanna win anything while i was there. Everytime id grind out a goal one way or another they'd just lay the frickin welcome mat out in defence and let one in. I was annoyed with the situation to say the least lol.
I then ignored BAL for about a month or so....and that leads me to the other day LOL..I thought screw it! Slipped BAL on, real casual like....first game we beat the opposition 5-1 and i scored 2 and assisted 2! Back on track gawd damn! Then they leave me outta the starting lineup of a real important Masters Cup match straight after that! NO!! Dirty dogs! They lose LOL. What a surprise..im back in the starting 11 again now. Gonna ride out this season the best i can and hope i get a good offer at the end of the season. If not...no more BAL for me. I'll probably just go online with my dude in the Legends area and play top player level games instead. If you get the right connections together in a room lag is rare tbh and i enjoy playing co-op with people..as long as they're not ball hogs of course LOL. 'Team play is the only way'...thats my moto in Legends mode
