Thanks alonCFC, much appreciated. Getting towards end of Season Three so will consider dropping down to Professional, although I am tempted to stay at Top Player and battle it out. Main thing that annoys me are my team mates - especially at Everton. Leighton Baines never once passed to me! And Saha and Yakubu were AWFUL!

I play at Top Player but I think that a combination of formation, your own stats actual team strength (team mates) makes all the difference.

for the first 2 seasons I was playing for Napoli as a CF (although I was RWF). I hated it because my stats were crappy and also playing as a lone striker with lavezzi behind me. I was subbed alot and had really really poor performance. Nice and among other teams were interested so I checked their formation and they play 4-3-3 so I decided to move to Nice because it was a team with less ability so I started from the first game there as RWF. It was much more enjoyable for sure as I was breaking free on the right wing more often. But after a while my team was performing badly and loosing ALOT!!! they also lacked SMFs in the formation so were were butchered on side plays

So after 2 seasons there I got new offers. I chose to move to Bordeaux because they were higher in league standing and also they had a 4-4-2 formation. The team certainly is playing much much better than Nice (which contradicts what many critics of PES09's AI were saying that its all the same - it isn't). you can actually see the difference. Also my stats were improved. We are ranked 2nd in the league, qualified to quarter finals in D1 cup, I'm currently 5th in goal scoring, and 1st in assist. Also I got calls from the national team for the qualifiers.

it seems with time its getting better and the gameplay is really enjoyable and addictive. I scored some sweet goals from volleys to long-range shots and I have created amazing passes for the other CF I think it's Cavanage.

Cavenaghi is amazing on that game for a young striker. Stay there and you'll get much better much quicker as he's a great striker on the game.

It gets tough sometimes.

I recently joined A.S. Roma and they are playing HORRIBLE. They are losing to teams like U.S. Lecce and Reggina Calcio.

In our last game with U.S. Lecce I was STUNNED because my team was being dominated in possession and we had nearly no opportunities for goal.

We also got knocked out of the league cup and champions cup(by 2 goals scored on us in the last two minutes.)

no problem!
i advise you to change it to regular- that way you can get your stats high, move to a better team and get ready for higer difficulty.
im telling you- i started in regular and i moved to real madrid, that way you can participate in more attacks and score, and assist more. when your good enough, change the level harder and get trophies!

Have I got a different version to everyone else?

Hi All,

I started PES 2009 a month or so ago, I have 2 BAL players.

My first is based on Santiago from the movie "GOAL" this is in beginner mode and I am at REAL MADRID and top of assists and goals. Not hard on beginner. I am 19yo in 2010 and hoping PES 2009 has a world cup and that I get called up for Mexico.

My big question is this....

Like the movie I wanted to play for Newcastle before REAL. But my game does not have Newcastle in it. In fact the only licenesed teams I see are Man U and Liverpool...

So how come on these forums I keep seeing you guys talking about playing for Newcastle, Chelsea and so on. Where are these teams on PES 2009.

I have just begun my second BAL player based on myself, and now playing at regular level. A lot more of a challenge, I will probably up he level at the end of each season.

Cheers Guys.

^There is Newcastle. The license part is only on the kit. Man utd and liverpool have licensed kits, but all the other players are licensed. They just don't have the licensed kit but all the players are there.

I hate it when that happens, but it can happen in reality too. Though it happens more on this game.

^Really...are they called something different from Newcastle ?

For example I noticed my game has a middlesbrook, is this PES2009 version of middlesbrough?

Thanks.

^ you are the man, thank you and thanks BRENDEVER.

Also one more question from the newbie.

Will the World cup feature in BAL? I am halfway through 2010 at the moment and see no sign of the 2010 World cup. I really hope it is and that I get a call up from Mexico.

Cheers.

meh, i probably would have done things a little bit differently if i knew that stats would drastically stop increasing by the age of 26. i worked on balance and kicking a lot cuz i wanted to get 95 balance. but i mean i had 95 kick acc and tech by age 23, so i probably should have started focusing on something else earlier on...
