It has something to do with winning in Master League.. don't quote me on this but I think to unlock Schmeichel, Solskjaer and Keane you have to win the D1 league. They appear as Shirawtel, Solasal and Law Kit in the game but you can easily change their names in edit mode if you wish. Once unlocked they will go straight into the free agents group in ML.

Not sure about Ronaldo but I know that Zidane can be unlocked by winning the World Cup with France in Cup mode. Think he's known as Zirom in the game.

@dan80: As mentioned above the names are all fake but you can change them in edit mode. I believe Konami could have done a much better job with the faces.. for some reason Solskjaer has black hair.. but some are more accurate than others.

You guys may want to check out http://www.pespatchs.com/2009/10/pes2010-real-player-names-by-wecn.html for a full list of the classic players. As you progress through the game you can have a look in Track Record which will show you the classic players you've unlocked.

I dont think i can be botherd with legends now i think if they ment to be legends they would have real names real faces

Well if I've ever seen a case for scripting, it was my last game. Playing as Liverpool, against some weird team who are bottom of the division. 5 minute match, I had ALL of the ball, 18 shots (17 on target) to 0. I hit the post 6 effing times. 6 effing times???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The scripting thing was a joke, I was just referring to the unluckiness of that match.

I just lost 1-0 to Aston Villa at home... 12 games in a row I won, then Villa just take a 1-0 win from me.

I had a great chance in the first half to go in front though, Fredial kicks the ball stait onto Aqualanis head and it bounces off and goes to Huntellar for an open goal shot, I (or he) shot and it was probaly the weakist shot I have ever seen on PES in my life! His shot was SLOW! It was like 0.0000000000000000000001 Miles an hour! It was so slow that Brad Freidal had enough time to sprint back to the goal line and clear it for a corner! That could have been my winning goal lol!

^ What a shame there. I just played a couple of matches. Still undefeated in ALL tournaments so far this season - halfway through. Next match is against Aston villa in the 3 or 4th round in FA Cup. Raped Inter 5-1 in the last group match in CL. They had Vorm between the posts, and i doubt he's prefered position is GK since he was absolutely shite.. Guess i'll have to check him.. Both my starting strikers are 1 and 2 on the top scorer list in the league.
Still considering wheather to make an approach for Bendtner or not since the transfer window is now open..

I'm currently in April. I'm not doing so well. I did win the F.A cup, and won Sevillia 7-2 by the end of both legs, and I'm in the CL final against Chelsea, but I'm only 5th at the league, with 4 points away from the 4th. I've had a statistic of almost 5 matchs without wins on the league...I lost to Fullham, AStol Villa, draw with Brimmingham and Bolton...I just couldn't win. I had a 10 points per from 6th, now I'm only 3 from everton. I might not even get to get to CL next year...So I'm looking to strenghten my squad a lil, I need an good winger that can play also as AMF. I have my look on Gourcuff and Silva currently. Both are impossible to buy, though.

Master League Story

Off to my 4th season in my Master League and I know pretty much what the best players, or lets not call best, classy players are. I got most of them in my squad, however transferring got awfully hard after the 2nd season ended. My recommendation for the ones out there planning to sign huge names like Agüero, Benzema, Pato, Ronaldo, Gourcuff, Silva etc etc. is to wait until some clubs watch or even get in contact for them. That seems the only time to get big names, by competing with other teams.

I play with Fenerbahçe integrated into the Spanish League, won EL in my 2nd season and CL in my 3rd, professional at 1st season, top player at the rest. Here is my squad:

GK Diego 92
RB Ilucznica 80 (Normally CMF and 90 overall, probably the best CMF with defense)
CB Kjaer 82
CB Palsehin 85 (Never heard some1 mention him, he is probably the best future defender!)
LB Insua 80
DMF Catermole 88
RMF Wijnaldum 87
LMF Bonnet 87 (My favorite back up LMF from Pes 09, no one mentioned him here, cheap and young at start!)
AMF Silva 92
SS Agüero 97 (Normally 94 as CF)
CF Gignac 88 (Better than Benzema, trust me far faster, and 186 height)

Some honorable substitutes worth mentioning:
SMF Abdülkadir 86 (Almost all time sub but still he improves like hell)
SMF Valbuena 87 (Doesn't improve after 2 seasons but still good for struggling teams in first seasons)
SS IRPAEMIKHA 80 (Good substitute, 189 and nice speed, bad body balance though)

I always go for the best team with unknown players with the exception of Agüero and Silva, so I don't buy Benzema, Messi, Ronaldo on purpose in every single Master League I play )

However I won't play my 16 year old 89 rated defender from youth team since this youth business messed things a little I think.

@Liverpool Way:
LB: Try Palsehin, he is CB but can also play SB pretty nicely. So u can rotate him.
CMF: Gourcuff is the best attacking CMF, and Ilucznica is the best defending CMF hands down, and Ilucznica is 21 years old in the 4th season, so he ROCKS.

Can someone post the top 30 guys in rating at year 2019, if they won't mind? )

Depends on how many seasons you've played. Wendt from fc copenhagen is a brilliant left back (22-23 in the beginning of the game)

As cmf you may try out this illzunica (or what ever his name is) from poland. Never seen him, but recommendations from here says he's good.
Ekdal is a great cmf as well, and also plays smf and amf.
Tettey raped everyone on the midfield last season, scoring 12 league goals etc. but has just stopped developing now

He gets to ~90 rating at the age of 21. (the polish)
I have somewhat the same problem as you, The Liverpool Way. I also in need for an Fullback, since Insua is too slow currently, and only 68. I'm trying to sign Lahm currently, with no luck. As for CMF, I currently don't need, as I still have lucas/spearing/aquilani/mascherano/gerrard. But I am looking at a few such as Van Der Vaart, Silva, Modric, Mountinho.

Unlike you, I didn't sell Voronnin and Benayoun ( Voronin is just plain awesome, don't know why, but he actually does a really good job.) Benayoun is each season and each time passes becomes slower and gets too tired. I have marked Joe Cole as his replacement.

Restarted my ML campaign since I wanted to make the CPU squads
more aggressive..tweaked their stats.

Liverpool, Professional.

Still getting used to PES on PS3, after a 2 year break from PES.

Domestically, it has been a mixed start...with 2 defeats in 4...
to Stoke and Portsmouth...no wins at home yet...1 win at West Ham.

Then the big one...away to Barca in the CL....Messi scores in the
4th minute, they are flying...we are stunned...but as the game goes
on we slowly get back...Torres levels, and the 2nd half is one-sided
for us with Acquilani winning it superbly.
Next up Chelsea at Anfield, we are 2 up in 20 minutes thanks to brilliant
goals by Torres and Gerrard...., then Anelka pulls one back...
but Torres scores from another superb counter...and 3:1 it ends.

So a mixed start, but now with the more attacking tactics and our
a more solid R2 based defending...our season is taking off....but
we are already 10 pts adrift of United.

We desperately need some cover for Torres and Gerrard...
special mention to Riera who is really creating a great attacking
triangle with some lovely passing and interplay.

Already the League seems too distant, but hoping for a good Cup and CL run....

Currently on my 6th season. MU, Chelsea, and Liverpool failed to advance from the group stage. The most amazing thing was Basel is on the top of the group, Barca 2nd, MU 3rd!!..
The only English team on the knockout round is Tottenham.
