How long did you take to get used to PES5?

Hey,
Got my copy today and at the moment I find it very irritable to play with lack of chances etc. I constantly get frustrated with the fact that everything is so damn sllloooooowwwwww!

What I want to know is how long it took you people to get used to it as I am a bit scared that Konami have mucked it all up. So far I find it hard to run around players without getting tackled.

Saying that when you score it looks awesome!
Cheers, G

I shouldn't think anyone is used to it yet, it comes out tomorrow and from what I think, it is different to the PS2 demo I had so I doubt anyone will be fluent in the art of PES 5...

It's too hard for me at the moment! Its fantastic, I certainly can't see myself getting the knack of this for at least a few weeks which is a great feeling really.

It makes the goals more special when you finally do score, but yes, today I have been VERY irritated by it... and no crowd!! thats the worst part

My mates are getting stressed with it too, one player seems easier, but two player isnt as fun as it used to be at the moment. The transition in terms of gameplay is a lot bigger from PES4-PES5 than others I think.

Yeah for sure, its the biggest jump. Although I thought PES 2-3 was a big jump too!

Personally I have found that the goals are flying in on multiplyer mode and I'm struggling against the CPU.... But I guess that's down to styles of play

I've had we9 for about a month and I'm totally used to it
couldn't and wouldn't ever go back
that's the way it always goes though, innit?
once you get used to it, you'll see how much more realistic, and how much more attention to detail they give
it's subtle things like players shielding the ball before recieving the pass that get me
incredible game

Have it 2 days now and it gets better every time i play it. I have to say i completed the challenge training (appart from the manual pass bit, can't get the hang of that bloody R3 at all) and it's helped me to get a better feel for the game. accumulating points as we speak so i can unlock the master league starting points and the classic teams and players.
The game is about posession and using the ball intellegently. It's way harder to pick of the pinpoint rapid fire passes we could in pes4. I do think the ref is very strict though, a bit too so...
Stick with it, it gets better and better...

I got the game today started my first match with Liverpool (or Meryside Red as it is called... going to buy max drive though.. ) against Rosenborg on three stars.. the game ended 0-0... then i tryed 5 stars Barcelona agaist Chelsea... did the flip flap with ronaldinhio :D.. but lost the game 3-0.. the next gam i played was Man Utd... against Arsenal lost 0-2.. went down to three stars again lol... then i won with Real Madrid agaist Austria... 1-0 scored a absolutly fantastic goal with P. Garcia.... half volley from 35 meters crossbar in...

I got used to the game after i was in training and started to try some tricks, passes, free kicks etc... i think the game is superb i acctualy likes that it is more freekicks.. i got a red card my seccond game... puyol was sent of after a tackle last man... drogba had only the keeper left had to do it lol... but off course they scored on the free kick...

i would also say that the snow is very good... and even though i ain't totally used to the game yet i like it.. i played the international cup twice on four stars... was beaten in the gruop fase the first time.. with england.. lost agaisnt Russia and Venezuela.. and won against Tunisia.. then i tryed again and came third with Brazil lost the semi final on in extra time against England damm defoe... but hey! love the game, the best pes ever!! :)

I'm almost used to it. Beat Inter 5-3 on 5* but still find it difficult to go past players.

yea i'm getting used to it, still i agree with the point about the mutiplayer not being as fun, for some reason when i've been playing it online and with my mates today i've been getting very frustrated! just played a couple of games against the computer, put it on 5 star to see how good i was and i beat rangers 4-1 with chelsea, scored a great goal with crespo and then i got beat 3-2 in extra time by ac milan but had a smile on my face the whole time! really enjoying it, but i hope that in 6 months time i'm still getting beat at least every now and again by teams! especially like the 3-2 today

I'm still not used to it. I find the dribbling and passing very hard to adjust to from a whole year of PES4 however I think the new shooting system is cracking for scoring crackers. Nearly all of the goals I have scored so far have been from outside the box and in my last game before I turned it off I scored from the half way line with Cocu. As Kev said, I think the fact that I'm not used to it is good as it keeps you wanting to play on.

1st be patient when playing PES 5.
move the player like real football.
no more super hero can dribble all the way to score a goal.
I think team work for the team very important.

About running around and past opponents: it's really all about timing, when to press speed dash and not and when to slightly change direction of your player. I love that it's actually like REAL football when trying to out run someone; you need to have a feel for when to break in, in front of the chasing guy, to shut him out - place your body between him and the ball and you're off towards goal :)
It's amazing to see how well it works. Either you get past (and hopefully get a chance on goal) or you're being tackled from behind, resulting in at least a free kick. It's so sweet

after playing we9 for months now I jumprd straight into pes5 I found it much more enjoyable than we9 the shooting and passing slightley better with better player faces.Give the game a few weeks and you'll be smashing shots into the top corner and playing the computer off the pitch.

yeah, I have played Barcelona for 12 friendly matches and only got 2 wins so far. It ain't easy than I thought, I have had a lot of chances with Barcelona but didn't take all of them.
